GTTRacing91PGT
I am going to paint the centers silver and put these decals on the center caps and clear over them Be careful shooting clear over the stickers. I tried this once and my stickers curled up. I know it's possible to do it and I've seen it done, I just never figured out what I did wrong. I ended up scraping the stickers off and scrapping that part of the project. I agree though, I think it will be a great touch. Looking forward to seeing the outcome! 9838stang
Last weekend i went out to hang out with some friends and I hit a nasty man hole cover that had been pushed up some how. I tried to swerve left but it was too late. After that the car felt like it was loose and would pull left. I tried to play with the bump steer but nothing came of it. I took it in to have the alignment checked out...before:I also think it was out so far since it was lowered more. 9838stang
I had installed the hinge repair kit on the driver side door 8 or 9 years ago and i know i wasnt gunna go through that again.for a few years, i have been battling the dreaded door sag on the passenger side. I finally had it, and got tired of people spamming my door shut, or myself, to close it. I stopped off at the upullit yard. and snagged up a few parts including the hinges. gave the hinges a coat of paint. Was a little worried on how it would all come apart with out scratching something. Once i got the wheel, fender, inner fender and fender extension off, I had all the room needed to attack the task. I had to remove the inside kick panel inorder to get the lower hinge off as well.I recommend to anyone who does this, have a second set of hand. What a pain in the ass!!!I got the new hinges in place and was time to square up the door and fender. All back together..... Sorta...Found out my gaps werent well for the door and the door and quarter were touching. All back apart to recenter the door and get the gaps correct. Gaps correct. Ran into another problem. The glass would hit the body and not allow it to close. I kept trying to adjust the window stops but the window stops were already maxed out. Had my dad a glass installer look at whole window assmebly... Found out the down had come unglued. All glued, reassembled, and fitted!!!! All fixed and closes smoothlyhttp://vid1008.photobucket.com/albums/af203/9838stang/received_10153210980980108_zpslmhyaksv.mp4
Tabres
Looks like a bugger of a job. I've had the front fenders off before but never the doors. At least your vinyl hood graphic provided a nice reference for where the forward and after position of the fender should have been. Can't wait to see you get the Roush wheels done. I've always loved those.

9838stang
I feel like i need to post a small update to the Money Pit Pony. A while back i replaced my stock Tan leather steering wheel with a black rubber wheel out of a 94. The tan wheel was pretty rough and beat up. Also wanted to flow the Black and tan theme i was going with. Over time i started missing the leather feel, and was liking the steering wheel in the daily. So, I thought i would apply the same idea over to the mustang. I ordered a black leather and black perforated leather with tan stitching steering wheel cover from redline. I love the look of some steering wheel covers they have done when that comes in ill post pictures. Also when i pull the steering wheel, I am gunna installed some illuminated cruise control buttons. I saw someone one facebook actually do it with Lincoln Mark VIII parts. I traded one of my old bmx bike for this. I still might need one more part. but we shall see.traded for thisAs you can see, the Mark VIII happens to be brown and i could not find any black cruise control components from this body style. So I applied paint thinner to the button covers to see if the while would wash out any, but works are smooth. So i need to scribe over the words to etch in the works of the buttons. Once i did that i found a close match to the interior color and did a test sprayLet me know what you guys think on the color... I may stripe the tan off and paint it black. 9838stang
Got a package in the mail the other day!Redline Goods wheel cover It took me about 4 hours to get the wheel cover stitched up, properly glued, and spacing the stitching evenly. I kind of wish i got the padded version, but it looks great! Awesome fitment quality. Black leather, Black Perforated Leather, and Tan Stitching. Blackmage
looks sharp man!!!! is the glue pretty slow drying to give you plenty of time to move the leather around if its not sitting just right?
9838stang
looks sharp man!!!! is the glue pretty slow drying to give you plenty of time to move the leather around if its not sitting just right?Yes exactly, basically it holds it in place so when I start stitching it doesn't move about.I used liquid nails, home projects adhesive. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to actually start to set up and then it takes 8 hours for to finally cure. So basically what I would do it starts ditching it up after I aligned where want the wheel cover to be and basically just to get the ends together so they pull evenly. I just put about a 3 pea size dab on the wheel and spread it around. So it swould bleed through the perforated parts. I carried the same idea over to the rest of the wheel. Top for about 6-8 inches, and all four spokes leading out to the wheel and extending out about an inch. The bottom didn't get any glie mainly because it was tight and held very securelyOnly 5 parts have glues on the wheel, the top section for about 6 to 8 inches, and each of the spokes leading to the wheel, and even spread out approximately an inch past the spoke. The only part of the wheel that really didn't get blue is the bottom section mainly because it's held together nice and tight at the bottom. The inside of the wheel cover, is actually kind of tacky in a way from the leather against love rubber bottom of the wheel

9838stang
So I kinda did a thing today! Been after this guy for a year now and he hasnt responded to any messages from craigslist, nor did he leave a phone number. But finally happened to see the car when i went into Fastenal supply. Saw the car, asked the guy whats the deal with the cobra? he said parting it out. I asked about the side skirts, he originally wanted $200 for them. I told him that the skirts have a couple of cracks because the car landed on top of a curb or a hoist some how. Well after spend a couple of hours trying to get the screws loose. I brought them to the guy and told him," they need work, I know we agreed upon $160.00 but they need work. Being the skirts set in the at position for over 2 years the skirts formed to that shape and will need some persuasion to go back into shape" Not only that, they tried to help by taking the end screws out and moving the whole skirt down, and try to gain access to the bolt. Well he bent all the driver side tabs. I told him ill get it off there. I picked these up for $140.

9838stang
Just a small update Well I had an interesting day today. I gave my two week notice at the bicycle shop I work at. At the end of my stay at Penn Cycle in the leaving there with 8 years experience and with knowledge and how to tune fix maintain build disassemble destroy and sell bicycles. I also picked up a few skills on the IT scene. I went to Augsburg College 2 gain a degree in computer science and with that being heard by the office they asked if I wanted to come aboard to become part of the it team Well after 8 years going nowhere decided to give my 2 week notice after getting a position working at Napa. It's kind of a step sideways but there will be much more to be learned at this company many more doors to be opened up for me as well as many more opportunities to further my knowledge. Also in the same day I headed out to see my girlfriend that was two and a half hours away. On my journey out to see her I picked up a huge chunk of metal in my tire. As in the pictures, yes I know the tires needed to be replaced anyways and i tried to put it off as long as I can. But I guess the decision was made for me. So I have two new tires coming will be here Monday or Tuesday. I also ordered two new rod ends for the bump steer kit I have. The last of about 4 years roughly 60000 miles not bad for being an exposed system. So we shall see when they get here how much quieter everything buttoned up. I should since I'll have the front and mostly apart to get to him Take A Part the control arms and put a new bushings. I also picked up new inner tie rods as you can see in the pictures

9838stang
After going through a few headaches with the seller on the car, I got this to add to my stable temporally. Its a 2000 Mustang Gt coupe 5spd car. Gray Leather interior, Gray interior Blue exterior, mach 460 car. The car was a 2 owner car, is now a 3 owner car including myself. I started this process over a week and a half ago. The seller i swear was senile. I called on the car 2 hours after it was posted and the seller told me that i was the 2nd person thatcalled on it and that the first guy was all the way down in Albert Lee MN and wasnt coming until friday to come get the car. I called him on tuesday night and went out to pick the car up on Wednesday. I called to tell him that i was coming out to look at the car and pick it up. He tells me that there is another guy coming to look at the car tomorrow. I told him cool ill be there. I show up ask to take it for a spin. He tells me well umm ah yea sure you can. I go for a few blocks and everything work except for the brakes.... meaning it was sitting for a while and the rusted rotors sucked. But oh well i drive back and start to ask would you take.... Nah nah i cant sell it to you, someone is coing form Albert Lee to look at it... So i get kinda frustrated and say what the heck you didnt say i couldnt buy it. and we talk and bs for a while He told me that the guy is suppose to come back thursday to come get the car. I called thursday to see if the car was picked up and he says that no, infact the guy never called back. He told me that i was next in line to come get the car. So i told him that i would bring cash to him Saturday at 4pm. He told me what I am bring... I told him, that If i could give him any and all Information he wanted, and a check for a $1000 that i could come back in the next month to pay off the rest of the $700 bucks. He told me that i seem like a nice guy can that yea that would work. Saturday: I run up there saturday afternoon with my checkbook ID home address info, and where the car will be held. He tells me well, i was all the cash upfront. I tell him that well i cant do that, banks are closed and we had an arrangement. He told me that well ah i had been screwed in the past, and that he wasnt comfortable. I got kinda upset and told him that this aint right this and we argue.... Before i leave we come to another gentlemans agreement. I would bring $1500 cash on monday and that is the end of it lol ( im getting pissed and upset now this will be the 3rd time i have to come out to his place. He tells me the best he can do is come down to 1600 bucks. I tell him ah, fine $1600 monday. He tells me yea that works. So today the car is mine and not a damn thing went wrong!!! 9838stang
Well i should update the thread. Been a little busy, bought some new items preparing for the swap Picked up this used on ebay and relized that the filter was wrong and that it was missing some pieces. So i ordered this right after then realized my 99-04 magnaflow catback was hacked up to fit my divorced dual set up. So ordered these thought that i should help the extra air flow with this Trick Flow tb and plenum 75mm tb was told to get this since the whole car will be taken apart anyways why not get this. sve double hook quadrant and firewall adjuster Figured i would get this too while adding some parts. SCT X4 Figured i should get new keys too since im using my factory door locks and ignition cylinder. and the 00 steering column. I want to have the new keys programed to the 00 computer but keyed to the 98 and figured i would put all new fluids in while i was swapping things. 9838stang
Well guys sorry to let you down the motor swap still isn't done my little sick staying here still a car. This weekend hopefully if all goes right both weather and timing my car will be a shell and hopefully have the 2000 motor and transmission in place. I've been procrastinating as well as having to work on my days off I don't yet have PTO but I will soon but in the meantime I will be working on the car this weekend and next weekend. I started a couple of other things though. My 2000 cup holder in place. It's deeper than the 98 meaning the drinks for the passenger won't want to move as much. The 2000 I did go back over it with a quick spray of flat black interior spray to help take the sign down it looks a lot better I didn't have time to take pictures and wait for it to dry but it does look a lot better
9838stang
Well guys, a little up date.... which doing the swap, motor fell off the skidloader Nah jk lol Got most of my interior pulled out Friday night. Drove the car to my buddies place to start the process At this point, we have already pulled the radiator hoses, disconnected electric working ok on ac stuff, and getting suspension apart Something I never wanted to show, but the 4r70w trans was leaking pretty bad as well as the rear main was leaking and had a coolant leak somewhere I couldnt locate. Gotta touch up some surface rust and put the new exhaust in. Man was a fight it was to take out the crappy weld job that was done. Sixxer about to 86 Got some more touch ups to in here as we Finally the v8 is going somewhere. And it is in place
9838stang
The 2000 dash. Stained and beaten as well as broken. Dash pad removed My 98 dash pad in its nakedness... 98 dash pad hung over the 2000. Now the reason why this was done, was because the wire harness on the 2000 Mustang GT Dash is completely different compared to the 98 Mustang dash in my car. All of the connectors are different as well as pinned differently. Also one huge difference the fuse box inside the car are completely different shaped as well as different location. So my 98 frame for the dash will not work. This was the easiest and simplest way to be able to keep my black and tan interior.
