Subframe-Side Exhaust

Recommended Posts

I had looked into it and talked to them and they said that there would be some modifications needed but that it was nothing huge or out of the scope of what someone that has the tools/experience to install the kit could not do.

Not shown is having to pie cut some of the tubes to change the bend angles. Toward the rear of the car the web braces bend upward to follow the chassis. When you slide them forward to clear side exhaust, the bends no longer line up so you have to do some cutting and welding to compensate. Basically, if you are proficient at welding and you are willing to spend some time fine tuning the fit, it's totally doable. Just remember, when you're talking about metal fab, where there's a will there's a way :2thumb:

not sure what sub frame connectors you have or are considering but I have the spintechs and they are definitely stiff enough to jack either side of the car up with one jack now.  I have been drooling over this kit as well as it just looks like chassis porn to me but at the moment is much more then I need.  I am getting as much of my suspension stuff adjustable so I can tweek/tune it as I would love to go to some scca time trials and definitely the track and if I get more serious this is definitely on my long list of things I wish for.

Dan, my side exhaust is ran a tad different than yours. Most of my exhaust is in the rear, so maybe I wouldn't have to mod much on the subframes. I can do a lot of things, but haven't done a lot of welding, which I do plan to change in 2016. I'm going to get me a welder, and start practicing.

Those look nice as well. I need some bad. Every since I did the 04 Cobra swap into Mysty, I keep breaking exhaust hangers, and such with the new HP, and torque.
