  1. Long overdue update here. IRS has been completely tore down, cleaned, painted, and refreshed. The IRS already had the full FTBR catalog thrown at it but everything was covered in grease. One axle shaft was destroyed so both have been replaced, hub bearing have both been replaced along with one new hub. 2. And for the biggest update. A guy on a local FB posted he was wanting to trade his 03/04 cobra IRS for a SRA. I hit him up and we ended up making a deal. I traded him my SRA with PHB straight for his IRS. The IRS is already loaded with FTBR bushings and 3.73's so its good to go. Im taking this time to strip and paint the underside of the car since everything is out. In the process of removing the tank the return side hard fuel line broke at the quick disconnect, so I ordered a full new set of supply and return lines from CJ pony parts. I will be making a new crossover hard brake line to mate up to factory style soft lines. More updates to come as I begin reassembly. 3. Have a bunch of updates 😁 Redesigned the spoiler to flow better with the lines of the car. 4. Believe me I have thought about it. This set is actually for sale by me locally but is missing one wheel
  5. I want to say it was $300 installed for just the subframe connectors, including parts. They let me hangout in the bay with them and seemed like great guys, I definitely recommend them.
  6. Only "power" modification that has been done is an OEM FRPP 70mm TB. My goal for this car is to make it "look" like it was built in the early 2000's so I've been trying to source some old school parts. DSC_0929 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr DSC_0955 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr
  7. Bringing this back from the dead. Life has been getting pretty busy but Im still managing to get a little work done on the car and do some racing. Since the last update Ive done a few more suspension modifications and acquired another set of wheels. The motor is still running strong even with the tensioner/chain noise I was concerned with from the beginning. After this season my plans are to pull the entire timing system apart and replace everything. The first thing I needed to do was get a set of decent tires since this was turning into a dedicated autox car. I went with Falken rt615k+'s in a 255/40/17. The shorter height helps with acceleration but Im looking to move to an 18 wheel in the near future for more tire options. IMG_0474 (5) by Kyle Matson, on Flickr Next up was to redo the suspension to add some adjustability. I went with MM coilovers all around. Up front I also added an FTR bumpsteer kit and some repo Cobra 13" brakes. DSC_0660 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr MM Panhard Bar with MM coilovers on Koni SA's. The rear coilovers really helped dial out some of the understeer, Im very happy with the rear setup now. I found a set of mint Forgeline RS's on CL pretty local to me for a great price. They polished up almost perfect, I dont think they had every been ran on a car before. 8. These are the fenders I've been dreaming of forever. That's incredible work sir
  9. Let me know if you want any specific pictures. I realized I haven't take many detail shots of the final product
  10. Damn that looks killer. You do some amazing work!
  11. Finished product. I am pretty pleased with the end result. Autox is this weekend so I will be able to test it out and see if anything needs to be changed. I can upload more pics of the building process if anyone is interested. DSC_0572 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr DSC_0564 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr DSC_0559 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr
  12. Thanks guys! Some progress has been made since my last update. I made it to 3 local autox's and the car has done great. The only thing holding me back is my cheap all season tires. Im planning to finish this season on them to get seat time and understand how to really drive the car and not rely on tires. The local CAM class is very competitive and is full of helpful people. Here are some pictures and a small video of my first event with the car. Untitled by Kyle Matson, on Flickr I also took off the s351 wing to do some cleaning and the rivnuts inserted in the wing decided to strip/spin so it probably wont be going back on..... So what do I decide to do? Build a custom autox/nascar style spoiler. Ive got my template made up and will be using 1/8" aluminum which should be ready to pick up on Monday. I need to order some support rods and figure out what kind of hing/bracket I will use to mount it to the trunk. 13. Thanks guys The wheels were Konig SSM's. 18x9/18x10 And I agree that was the look I miss most of that car
  14. Couldnt find much info online about this so I decided to put together a little how to in case anyone else is looking to do this. The process is pretty simple and takes maybe 10-15 minutes. I picked mine up at CJ Pony parts: http://www.cjponyparts.com/antenna-delete-plate-black-plastic-cobra-r-style-1994-2004/p/HW3715/?year=2001&gclid=CjwKEAjwse7JBRCJ576SqoD7lCkSJABF-bKu8WYFBH2OqKCjpZDNawneflHNa4f43PeZ1PAwXTTZGhoC_Jnw_wcB Before: DSC_0477 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr Unscrew antenna from base DSC_0479 by Kyle Matson, on Flickr Use a flathead screw driver to pry up on the bezel. Place a towel underneath the screw driver to prevent scratching the fender. Work your way around the bezel gently prying up. I ended up having to break mine to get it off.
