guess its about time for an update lol.

Well finally got the axles back from moser., little mix up in lengths while trying to get the rear brakes I actually wanted to run this time around. Needles to say i finally nailed it down, took a total of 3 1/4 inches of each side resulting in a rear 6 1/2 inches shorter than stock.

Also did some massaging to the rear lip and quater are to assure the monster 345s are going to fit up in the well a bit. Also got around to mocing up the rear Wilwood 13 in 4 piston superlite brake set up. Got some more chasis work done by welding in stifflers fit system. Still have a bit more chasis stiffining going in along with a bit more clean up before i can button it up under there and install the lava mat. Working on getting a shorten cage to fit under the speedster, trying to get this thing as tight as possible in preperation for some big power. anyway some pics to get ya cought up. Front brake porn coming soon lol

No doubt those brakes are bad assed, probably the baddest on the forum and certainly what I have been dreaming of. Just curious though, I would assume the arrow on the disc is to point towards forward rotation but it looks like its pointing backwards on the close up pic

Great updates to this build.

What subframes are you already running? I have a set of full length MMs on mine and am considering the Web Braces + Jacking Rails from Stifflers too.

The brakes look great and 345s are gonna be sick under there.

Not sure on the brand as they were on the car when i bought it. I did fab the extensions as the connectors werent full lenght.

Thanks ryan, the only problem with running any type of serious brakes outback on an SN is the offset, most big brakes are set up for a 2 1/2 off set were as the SN is 3.25. the only way i was able to do it is because of my shortend rear.

Those rear brakes kick ass Rich! I was eyeing that setup a while back but alas, it does not fit the IRS... :(

Yeah love the brakes myself cant wait to drop the 14" monsters on the front. As for fitment look above. Looks like all the bigboy companies didnt bother making anything decent for the SN cars.

Nothing new there. At least the 96-04 mustang guys are finally getting to feel the pain that the 94-95 guys have known for so long. Nobody gives a shit about 94-04 anymore.

There is a direct fit Wilwood rear brake kit for 94-04 SRA, but it's not a 4 piston caliper.

Sadly that kit isnt much of an upgrade over cobra rear

Yea it's just a single piston caliper, and if you look at it, it looks strikingly similar to the OEM Ford caliper other than the thin front panel that says Wilwood. Weak sauce for sure.

Look back a page the rears are 4 piston 13s ...should stop on a dime

jesus lol. whats the weight on those though? that's the biggest thing that has kept me from going to a huge rotor setup is the extra unsprung weight.

haha lighter than a set of cobras lol

the entire setup is aluminum brackets, calipers , ext.. hence the superlite name

the box the fronts came in said 66lbs a good 5 pounds of that is packaging crap

impressive! I know the GT500 setup is 25lbs a rotor (14"). Looking sweet man, your eyeballs are gonna pop out with that amount of braking power haha

mmm.... binder porn

Are you going to run a brake bias adjuster, if so which one?

Yes Dan ive posted it a while back its from wilwood also. The entire braking system is wilwood except for all the new hardlines I ran.

rich how are you going to get the tri-bars to clear those big brakes ?
d

Lol troy still working on the rim strecher , hopefully ill have it up anf running soon. As far as the brackets go they are basically a block of aluminum with two studs to mount the caliper to them. Really nice set up, just didnt take pics of them. Check wilwoods sight for bracket pics as they have pics of every kit. BTW dont let the prices scare you away theyed look killer on the SVO Lol

Hope you don't mind me using your idea of tucking the radiator up in the core support. Putting it all back together now and I have already had to modify the lower mount because the core support came off of a 96 and its a little different. So I can't think if any reason why to not modify the uppers. Amazing how much space you can make there....

Scott not my idea that has been done a million times over to acommidate turbo systems and cog set ups, so have at it. You can always weld the lower tabs on the support as tucking the rad requiers not only mount mods but also modifying the radiator fill neck, mounting tabs, fan shroud assembly and custom lines (Im sure a couple other little things I forgot). Not sure if you were aware of it so figured i throw it out there in case its more than you want to tackle.

Yup just cut the neck about 30 mins ago. Unfortunatly I am waiting on my pneumatic tools/saw to trim some small areas my angle grinder can't reach, should be here in another day. I want to say thanks for the idea, but my back is fairly sore now from what it took to get to this point and I am not done yet :)
