White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 5 Installed the new pressure fitting and I’m happy to report it stopped the leak! However, during the initial testing and then bleeding phase it quickly discovered the weakest point in my system. It sprayed Pentosin everywhere The hose on the bottom, nearest the firewall seems to be under stress and I will have to straighten it out some. I may change the 90* fitting to a 45* and relieve some of that bend. So, I brought the HIGH QUALITY TOOLS back out and did some weight reduction! Got lazy and made a line from a few sections I had on hand. It’s not stupid if it doesn’t work!
White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 8 This is the picture I wanted to recreate and I’ve accomplished that. The car drove there and back without any issues. I’m going to bolt the seat belts down for the next trip. Decided it was time to shock test the brakes and woah mama!! It REALLY fucking stops with authority. Should’ve thought it through because everything in the trunk/back seat wound up in the front floor board. Oops. Now that I have things working as they should, I’m going to buy new rotors and install my new pads to match the back. Did not take pictures of the process but I’ve solved the leak problem. Made sure that I have about 2” of clearance at full lock and I’m ready to install the inner fenders. My tuner wanted to me work on adjust the TPS until it was reading 0% at idle and I’ve accomplished this too. I’m going to drive the sucker around to get some data logging for him. I hate going into the attic. Why? That’s where I have the cool stuff hidden! If I don’t see it, I don’t worry about it. Man, I really want these wheels on the car. White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 8 Sat back and decided I need some rear wheel spacers and this is going to bother me until I get them. Spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the inside up and putting the interior panels in place. Didn’t take pictures of the rest but I bolted the seat belts in and put in a few more trim pieces. Once it got dark, I started to mess with the Holley dash settings. The fuel level gauge is now fully operational (or so I thought) and I’ve started on the turn signal & high beam indicators. Mounted the TiVCT controller to the dash upside down and accessible through the glove box. Discovered that I could also have turn signal indication through my shift light. White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 9 Connected the wiring for the turn signal and high beams to show up on the Holley dash. Finally wired up my export tail lights to properly function, well, pending the installation of a EP-27 flasher. Also, changed to some flat black tail light bezels. White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 10 After a few days of trashing, I had readied the car for an attempt at passing state inspection. In Louisiana, anything pre-96 (OBD1 or older) is emissions exempt. If you looked past the fact the reverse lights and horn didn’t work, I stood a good chance. Paid my $20 and waited my turn. Talked to the inspector to educate him on the nuances of my car and he said, “oh, it’s a ‘95? Looks like it’s pretty much a race car too. We automatically pass anything older than 96 so let me get your new sticker.” Holy shit LOL So, I decided to roll into the throttle and give it a quick pull to 5k in first and second. She pulls pretty freaking hard and makes all sorts of glorious sounds doing so. The suspension totally amazed me when she didn’t even step out of the lane when it was skating through 2nd even on old, dry rotted tires. Fuck yes. Well... That’s about when it started to go to shit. The engine started to sputter and “lay over” on me. It was back firing and started to clatter and clang. Oh boy. Limped it around the corner to my buddies house and called a tow truck. After sitting around feeling sorry for myself I decided to leave it alone until today. Started by chopping a 10mm deep socket down to reach the only stud/bolt on the cam cover. Anyone Coyote swapping one of these cars needs to take note of this. After fighting the goddamn cam cover until I was ready to snap it’s freaking spine, it came out. My prayers seemingly have been answered and the cam phaser bolts backed out. Just like last time. Should’ve checked them when I did the passenger side. You live and you learn. I don’t see any evidence of metal shavings, chunks, none of the cam lobes are messed up and I’m generally optimistic I can torque the bolts down and move forward. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re back in business. Torqued everything down to spec and reassembled the removed parts. Fired right up and didn’t make any unwelcome noises. Decided to drove it to the parts store for an EP-27 flasher to complete the export tail light job. Laid a smoke screen down because I didn’t tighten a few cam cover bolts down enough. Hey, they were tough to get to!
White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 10 Nov 11 Today, my plans include stopping my self inflicted oil leak, glue the door mirrors glass back in and setting the preload in my steering rack. There is a big dead spot in the center and it needs to be addressed to build confidence in the car. Camber gang I can’t wait to get these together somewhere for a photo shoot. @Frank.JD.Perez would be so proud
White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 11 Fixed my oil leak and tightened up that steering slack! Helps when the stupid pinch bolt is in place Tried the method depicted above and it feels really, really good now. Took the car for another shakedown cruise and here are some observations: 1) My exhaust drags leaving the east entrance of my neighborhood but not the west. 2) I’m not sure if I like the smaller steering wheel. 3) The car needs an alignment very badly. 4) I need to revisit the activation parameters for the power steering because the RPMs dipped below the set point and left me without brake pressure. No bueno. 5) My parking brake cable snapped. I have an appointment with my tuner tomorrow at noon and I’m hoping we can get this beast sorted a little better. White95
More backdated build stuff: Nov 12 I’m having some connectivity issues with my laptop ever since the latest windows update. Now, when I link to the Holley ECU, it causes the all of the graph/tables to go blank. Which means my remote tune session had to be cancelled and I was pissed. If I disconnect, everything shows up and is user adjustable. I bought a cheap, Dell tablet that runs Windows 10 and hopefully that solves the issue. I just decided to take the rest of the day off at this point. Later, I started to mess around with the dash. I decided to try to match it to my radio and HVAC control lights. Here are the results: The blue absolutely sucks during daylight hours so I made another version with that in mind.

White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 13 Driving in traffic really sucks with an ON/OFF switch for a clutch!! Went out for a window motor, rear view mirror and some glue. Took the opportunity to get some more data for my tune. Even did a few short WOT pulls and managed to get the 2k-5k pull on film. It has a Saleen on the package so it was meant to be! Right?? It felt good going to 5k so going to 7.5k must feel awesome!
White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 14 Decided to swap my window motor out this morning. Before I took anything apart, I tested the new motor to determine polarity. It didn’t roll down but it would roll up. Undeterred, I bypassed the one touch down module and it still didn’t work. That only left the switch in the circuit and I had a spare. Hooked the original motor back up, tried the new switch and wouldn’t you know it worked immediately. Moving right along I glued the mirror back on and secured it with a vice while it set.
White95
More backdated build stuff! Nov 15 Took it out for another data log session and spun it up to 7k in first and second gear. Holy shit!! This is officially the fastest thing I’ve ever owned on four wheels. You can see the changes the ECU was making to the fuel table. There is something making a noise in the rear of the car and I need to address that before anymore road trips. Sat back and watched Scott make tune adjustments. My fuel gauge hasn’t changed from 100% so I checked it with a meter. It was reading 79 ohms and that’s around half a tank. Always something. I don’t know what this picture was about but here it is. Changed the back ground of my custom layout to include the Holley EFI logo for a little flair. I have a dash/ECU firmware mismatch and I’m unable to update the dash via flash drive. I’ll have to find a micro SD card to update. Also, swapped out my license plate lights to LED. Pictures later. White95
More backdated build stuff Dec 4 Didn’t take many pictures but I swapped front brakes today. Parts used: Motorcraft NBRR78 rotors PowerStop PST968 pads After securing the car on jack stands, I removed the front rolling stock and connecting the vacuum bleeder. This steps are taken to capture the fluid lost while pushing the pistons into the calipers. Next, I disassembled the brake assembly and began to replace them with new parts. These rotors have a corrosion resistant coating and hopefully will continued to look good. Repeated the process for the other side and bled the brakes. Took the car out for a quick 3 mile jaunt and the brake function. Tomorrow, I’ll take it out in the morning to properly bed them. First trip with the GPS connected and it works great!! The odometer is a nice feature as well.
White95
More backdated build stuff! Dec 5 Went through the 60-10 portion of the process and stopped after letting the brakes cool down. Walking back to the car I noticed the freshly filled tank seems to be puking fuel. Definitely leaking from somewhere... Doesn’t appear to be leaking from the fill neck and the gasket is only about 7 or 8 years old. Whatever it is, there is no evidence of it now. It only seemingly leaked while I was bedding the brakes and violently pitching the car around. Speaking of, I still need to do the 80-10 portion of the bedding procedure. So far, I can attest that they stop the car and do have some noise to them. Yay race brakes!

White95
More backdated build stuff! Dec 10 Installed an Intelletronix Digital fuel level gauge in a 3D printed vent pod. I hate the vent pod but it’s temporary anyway. Removed the Corbeau and swapped the driver seat to the actual drivers position. Through caution into the wind and I drove the car to work today! Wouldn’t be right without a video! 32% throttle in third gear sounds killer!
White95
The fuel gauge I wired in has a 0-180 ohm range. The stock sender is said to be 22-147 ohms but I’ve see others claim 15-160. So, my gauge read 43 after driving to and from work. So, I dedicated to try some simple math to determine the reading vs the tank actual level. According to my math, this 43% of 180 ohms is a half tank. My logic is as follows; 93% of 180 is 167.5 (full tank) 43% of 180 is 77.5 half tank Filled the car up and it took 7.4 gallons to fill it. My math seems to be correct! Took the dirty bastard to the car wash to eradicate the brake dust. Yes. Brake dust. Since the rear seat delete decided to flap around on me, I figured it was time to permanently install it. Took the time to install the drivers door speaker a d wired up the rear deck speakers. Did some more work with the dash and came up with a new layout. White95
Now that I’m on vacation until January 4th, I set out to have my new tires mounted to the F14’s. At the same time I had my one über tire mounted and it was time for some mock up action! If you’d ever wonders how many 275/35r18’s you could safely stuff into the bed of a F150 Super Crew, the answer is 8 😆 One of these things is not like the other! The car didn’t seem to have any emotion when I brought it fresh rubber to enjoy. Prick. This will be fun. It almost fits! The forward offset control arms helped with firewall clearance but offered no relief on the fender side. This is the look I want for this car. I love these wheels. Luckily I have a very expensive set of carbon fiber fenders that I’m praying will work with this setup. The new fenders flare out 1.75” and once I have the -3* of camber set it just may work out. This, however, will never work. I’m going to try a 3/8” spacer to clear the coil over as a first step. Those are the battery cables and will require some sort of meaningful guard put in place. White95
Can’t do much about the über tire and wheel package since I only have a pair of wheels and one tire. What I can do it proceed with other projects and I have the perfect next step. As I sat here Sunday morning after a trip to and from work, I decided it was time to make a dramatic change to the car. Install the 97 Cobra hood! So, I removed the cowl hood and bolted it up. Wouldn’t you know it fit like it was meant to be. It didn’t interfere with the intake elbow like the previous attempts. I’m pumped now. The sexy lines of a stock 96-98 Cobra has always been attractive to me. I’m slowly building my own take on this. Irs going to look even cooler when I finally bolt the Carter’s Customs splitter on. Now, I just need a hood latch... and hood latch bracket... and hood latch cable 😅 (Already in the mail) The sun finally peaked out from behind the gloom and I couldn’t resist snapping a quick picture. The cowl hood had a great visual impact but was totally unnecessary. I will not miss staring at it and now my wife can actually see what’s in front of the car. I’m going to get her to drive it now. 😈

White95
Started to repaint the interior to the desired black/gray two tone! I’m not very happy with the lower portion of the seat delete and the aftermarket carpet is crap. I think leaving the carpet and speaker grille charcoal was a good move. P The new armrest pad from LRS matches their paint well enough. Charcoal 🤔 Crap, I need to paint match the upper door panels to the rest of the interior now. This came from John Smith Racing and fits very well. My last few consoles were scratched up from years of abuse so I mimicked the seat belts in my truck. Found some 3M adhesive backed felt pads and stuck the felt to the back side of the receptacles. Not a perfect color match but I don’t care. White95
Decided to go for a quick spin to try out the BlackVue dash cam I won in a raffle. That escalated into taking the Dragy along to see what this thing could do. Sooo, traction was obviously an issue at the beginning. I’m not even sure when I was shifting either and, judging by the reflection of the shift light, it was early. Let off before the end of the run because traffic. It started to rain too.
