Orange SIXXXER Build thread

Recommended Posts

Haven't actually posted a build thread so here you go!

Hello, my name is Richard Brown. 19 years old from Lethbridge Alberta,Canada.

Thought I'd make a little build thread on my v6.

Its a 1994 Mustang with a 4.2 v6 swap (98-f150) with m112 supercharger.

The car was purchased in Coaldale Alberta (short drive from Lethbridge) on Feb 6 2007 as a father-son project, guess that made me 12 years old at the time (same as the age of the car). We were looking for a project car, mainly for a fox body, but came across this sn95 in the paper. The car was in pretty rough shape and had just been used as a donor car for a GT that hit a deer. However the car still had potential and was towed home the next day. Since then I have fallen in love with the sn95 body style and glad we came across it. All the work done to the car has been done by my father and I in a standard two car garage, including the paint. This is my first car and the vehicle I learned how to drive standard on, which was terrifying.

Here's some quick pics of the major works of the build. I can provide more of specific things if people are interested.

So this is how it started off as:

Number wise, there's still a few bugs in it. But my most resent dyno with plugged cats and bad o2 sensors did:

On Mustang Dynamometer

247.8 RWHP

264.4 RWT

As a comparison a stock 3v V8 Mustang does about 225 RWHP on this dyno!

On Dyno-Jet (Estimated, 14% more)

288.1 RWHP

307.4 RWT

At Flywheel (Estimated)

330.4 HP

352.5 T

Once its running smoothly it should be at the 300whp mark.

I think thats good for now!

Long time no see! How y'all doing?!?!

I scored some billet handles for $40, unopened package and didn't have to pay for shipping!

MNrU4CD.jpg

Likely I'll be ordering some LEDs to to switch gauges and what not!

Here's some pictures I took a bit ago. We're building a new garage.

thats a killer deal for those handles

I thought so too. Been wanting them for awhile but not for $140 (or$120 they're on sale for?) +shipping to Canada. Saw these and jumped on them. Only 10min off the highway on the way home for the weekend.

I like the quality of them, much nicer than stock.

again with the pics.. ugh

:banhim:

hopefully youre not driving that beauty in the winter?

haha no no. Theres a little orange mazda behind the car, it gets the joys of winter

MlS6QVWl.jpg

I had the car pulled out to move to the other side so that escape could park in the garage during winter. The mustang had difficulties getting back in...

I'll post some random pictures from summer while I'm here.

Also, in the summer I sold my supercharged f-150 for a gas sipper. (changed to a college that is 2 hours away from home rather than university 10 hours away from home, so i drive home more often).

2004 mazda3 S. Its pretty nice and fun to drive for a fwd, auto, fuel sipper. I will however be making the switch back to a 4x4 after school... nothing beats a 4x4 for winter.

geez I was way off. I think you should twin turbo this thing now! everyone loves some compound boost... all the cool kids are doing it!

That would we sweet! But I'm thinking coyote swap with be the next major thing.

But that hopefully won't happen until I'm done school and bought a house.

I have to say. My projects don't progress very fast with having a wife. Mortgage and two kids. But at the end of the day the car is on jack stands on MY property! I never understood why my dad sold his 1970AMX... Now I do?

Yeah I was pretty pissed when my dad sold his galaxy.

But now my mom made my dad build another garage and is letting him buy a toy :D

I guess she had enough of us occupying the garage during winter. haha

Here's the info on the LED swap

For anyone looking to do the LED swap,

I used this great guide for the LED swap, click Here!

If you want to do a colored LED swap, Ferocious made a great guide, click Here!

(Links are from SN95Forums, sorry but great information in them)

I got my LEDs off ebay for $8 (plus $8 shipping to canada), click here for link.

The swap is very easy and low cost. I recommend it to everyone! Its a huge improvement!

The LED bulbs plug straight into everything.

Ts2TSjEl.jpg

nfEZEjQl.jpg

fKn2Y8xl.jpg

The only complaint I had about the swap was the license plate lights. The LEDs are bigger than the normal bulbs, as a result they had to be squished into the housing cover. I don't think this will be a problem as long as it doesn't break the bulb. LEDs shouldn't get hot enough to cause any damage.

Here is a before and after picture side by side of the gauges.

Now that its running pretty good and the problem list is starting to decrease, its time to take care of a few details.

Has anyone cleaned the underside of their car? Anyone recommend any cleaning products?

I'm assuming I would just need a degreaser and scrubbers?

I've always painted and cleaned things as I touch anything, but the frame and where there was ("was" I hope being the key word) a bit of leaking going on is dirty.
