Orange SIXXXER Build thread

Installed my harness bar! Got it powdercoated a metallic orange. I like how it adds some colour to the interior. Before someone lectures harness bar vs roll cage, I don't actually plan on using it. I wanted it for the appearance and I plan on making a camera mount for it. My car doesn't really get tracked, I car about it too much. I want to get a track dedicated car down the road to beat on. :)
I also added a speedhunters banner :)

Went up to Calgary for Quarry Park car show a couple weeks ago. The clutch cable decided to change plans... It started to break and then stretched. Ended up limping the car home instead of the show, oh well!

Sugoi garage was nice enough to take a video

Replaced the cable today with maximum motorsports cable

Well I've officially owned this car for 10 years now! Hard to believe!

I got some interior goodies :)

Custom alcantara with orange stitching from Poland (redlinegoods). Shift boot, handbrake boot, arm rest and steering wheel! Should be interesting to install, but will be worth it!

Working on a couple things before Driven Calgary.

Started doing my steering wheel. I know somebody is going to get hurt about me cutting apart a perfectly good steering wheel... oh well! hopefully it turns out!

Interested to see the final product when the wheel is finished. And definitely no hurt feelings here about cutting up the stock wheel, IMO our factory steering wheels look like they belong in mini vans, so no love lost there lol.

Went to rocky mountain drift club yesterday for some photos. Was planning on stopping by for a bit and then doing a bit of a road trip...
There was a bit of time when the track was empty... wanted to do a couple donuts to see how things felt compared to the black car.

This happened.

Apparently the fire ball was larger, but yeah. Engine blew up. It was extinguished quickly so the damage is minimal. Oil everywhere. I haven't been able to see the damage, but there's a large chunk of metal that appears to be from the block. Also some aluminum pieces that I'm guessing are the oil pan or bell housing. I also found what looks like a piston ring. I guess it would have happened eventually, happy it was on a track and could be dealt with easily.
I'm just happy that myself or the car weren't majorly harmed. Well the car is damaged, but could have been a lot worse.
Excited to start a new setup!

NoPulp V2 coming soon!

Yes that's a diesel JDM van towing my car LOL.

You are a lot more optimistic than most people would be, sorry to hear about the engine man. I'm glad you're looking into a new build!

I'm actually not as upset as I thought I'd be haha. Just happy it was mostly limited to just the engine, would have been pretty bummed if it burned to the ground.

That's good, as long as its limited to the engine you have plenty of options for a cost-effective replacement or an upgrade. I'm excited to see what direction you go with it!

Damage report!

Hole in the bottom of the block and side of the oil pan. All sorts of goodies in there!
The hole was beside the starter - that got cooked but acted as a shield for everything else. I'll have to go through and double check the things I end up reusing, but not seeing anything concerning at this time.

Excited when I can pull the engine out, gonna be some good wall art! :)

Have you started thinking about what is next for it??  Build another 6er or time to step up with the big boys?!?

Big boys? lol

I'm pretty sure I know what I want, just doing my research where I want to start and how to do some of the more minor details.
