Hell yes dude! Underside is looking killer! I'm not excited about doing that to my car this winter but it has to happen as I put it off right after I did the through floors.

Thanks man, I quickly did it because I plan on driving the car a lot so i didn't want it to be really nice. A little cheap spray paint makes a world of difference!

Well I bought my first welder. It's just a 130 MIG, but it's something at least.

IMG_2869_zps9f70073f.jpg

Then I got my drop brackets and installed them.

IMG_2890_zps9cb6b56f.jpg

Here's a look at some of the parts I have ready for the car.

IMG_4020_zps749c3a5b.jpg

And I finally got the car on the ground for the first time in months.

IMG_6383_zpsf7ea1641.jpg

Then I got my buddy to TIG my oil drain fitting onto my oil pan.

IMG_3024_zpsda1f08a6.jpg

And I spent a few hours on the oil pan, it was a mess. It looks like crap still, but a ton better than it did.

My valve cover.

IMG_3029_zps07c4c952.jpg
And where the majority of the day was spent. My buddy and I got a decent amount of work done until we ran out of wire. Most of the holes are filled in and ground down.

I finally got back to work on the fox.

All the holes are welded up and the scottrod panels are welded in. I spent today grinding down the welds and began spreading some bondo over the imperfections. I have about 5 hours of prep work left and then it will be time to lay some primer, sand a few more times, then lay some color on it.

IMG_3268_zps6731da40.jpg

IMG_3267_zps2f28ad33.jpg

And the engine is assembled and ready to be dropped in. I went on and did a new oil pump, pickup, and ARP oil pump shaft too.

Looking goolden Ry Guy! The more I see the gold, the more I dig it on the motor!!

@black&red, check out the drop brackets a few posts up

Thanks Bryan! I'm happy with how the engine looks for the amount of money I've got in it, I just hope it looks good in the car!

Made some more progress this weekend.

How I started. This is after one prime coat after about 4 more hours of sanding.

IMG_3290_zps53a804cc.jpg

After a second coat and another hour or two of sanding

IMG_3292_zpsa8fa2bf2.jpg

And how if looks now. 3rd coat of primer with a bunch of sanding between coats. I gotta say, it's turning out pretty good considering I've never done anything like this before.

I've made some progress since the last time I posted in this thread.

I put in and wired my shift light.

IMG_3339_zps64e8f647.jpg

Pieced together a temporary intake from parts I had laying around. It actually looks pretty nice.

IMG_3497_zpsc6f16d7c.jpg

I would have had the engine bay done, but I ran out of paint at this point. Still waiting on more paint to show up so I can wetsand and clear it. I mocked up the radiator just to see.

IMG_3406_zps6c07f51c.jpg

I cleaned and painted all of the AC lines.

IMG_3501_zps18894bd9.jpg

Random pic of the car outside

IMG_3495_zps88d86a10.jpg

The engine, completely ready to go in. I mocked up the upper intake to see how it would look.

IMG_3499_zps0e8c015a.jpg

IMG_3498_zpsfff94445.jpg

I got the front clip out of the shed and gave it a good cleaning. I can't believe how good it looks to have been sitting out in the elements for months!

IMG_3503_zps6781aa73.jpg

And I primed the fender jambs for paint.

Great work Ryan, you're doing an incredible job for sure. The gold accents on the motor are really going to pop against the dark red, it'll be a nice classy look. And I still can't get over how great the rear wheel/tire setup looks on there.

Thanks everyone!

I finally got my paint and clear, so I finished up the bay, not bad for spray cans.

IMG_3543_zpsc2ddded3.jpg

Then I put all of the suspension back under it, put on the Magnums, and rolled it outside for a wash. I forgot that it was actually a decent looking car when it was clean.

A pic of the bay outside, I have wired almost everything up and put power to it and everything works as it should.

Little bit of mockup of the radiator, condensor, and transmission cooler.

Ghetto brackets I made

And the jambs after being sprayed.

Thanks everyone! As far as spraying the bay, I'm sure I didn't really do it the "right" way, lol. I just scuffed the primer with 400 grit and started laying on thin coats until I got to the point where I could start making real coats. Also it was 15 degrees when I painted it, I'm sure it could have turned out better but heating the garage for a few hours and then heating the paint cans made it work pretty well. The clear coat is the tricky part.. you have to make 2 light coats, then find the fine line between laying the clear like glass and making everything run for the final coat. Lol.

Thanks everyone!

I picked up my power adder for this season, if I end up wanting to go faster and get the 7 second pass I'm after N/A. Nitrous Outlet EFI Race Single Nozzle kit with a bottle heater.

IMG_3625_zps6cdf0452.jpg

The nearly completed vacuum tree and wiring

IMG_3602_zps9f987204.jpg

I mounted my bottle and ran my feed line just because I had nothing else to do at the time.

IMG_3632_zpscbdb23b4.jpg

Then I wired up my electric fans

IMG_3670_zps66f325c7.jpg

I'm using a Bosch 30 amp relay and ran it to a switched source and of course constant power. I powered the car on and it worked like it should, so I think I'll be fine.

IMG_3672_zps8344893c.jpg

I think I have enough fuse taps...

IMG_3675_zpsf8b77e37.jpg

Then I got tired of waiting for some help to help me put the engine and trans in as one unit, so I said screw it and went on and threw the engine in. I ended up getting almost everything completed today that's engine related. About all that's left is putting the trans and exhaust on.

IMG_3696_zpsc0114499.jpg

This little hose ended up taking longer than putting the engine in by myself. If you've ever tangled with this little bitch before, you know what's up.
