Saleen Supercharger Pulley Help

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

I decided to ask this outside of my build thread to see how much input I could get. When I bought my Saleen I thought the Series II supercharger had a smaller pulley on it. I measured it on the outside and it was 2.8" (not sure if I measured it right since I've heard of people measuring at the ribs). Straight from Saleen might've been a 3" but I'm not sure, and the car ran lean on the dyno so all the more reason to initially suspect a previous owner pulley swapped it. The pulley, however, looks like an Eaton pulley and is marked EA85681. It could be that it's the stock pulley and has never even been changed, for all I know. If this is a stock size I'll probably change it but that's what I'm trying to find out and I would certainly value the help of others. Thanks.

I'm not sure what the stock pulley size is for the Series 2. The stock pulley for my Series 4 is over 3" but it was marked by Saleen. I saw someone claim they measured their pulley at 2.6" and it has the same part number as yours. I also know Chicane sold a 66mm upgrade which is 2.6". I bought my 2.8" pulley from Pulley Boys. They should offer something for your Series 2 so try giving them a call. They may know what the stock pulley size is as well.

Thanks, Sean.

On the Pulley Boys website they have 3.0" as the stock size and rate it at 4psi. I've measured my pulley at 2.8" on the outside but if you measure it at the ribs it might be 2.6" (again, I'm not sure the proper way to measure a SC pulley). Provided that my boost gauge is accurate I've made ~7 lbs of boost which I wouldn't think I'd be making with a stock pulley, but I could be wrong.
