ThomasW
Now that all the T1’s and firewall panels are done, i can make my own stuff. My cowl panel is done, mostly. Still a bit of waviness to it, i’ll probly wetsand and clear it one final time. I also separate the splitter from the front bumper and trimmed it. Now i need to do some sanding to smooth it out, then skin it in CF.
ThomasW
Stuck at home with a head cold and clogged sinus’, so may as well do something fun to work the cold out. Final coats of clear on my firewall panel: Painted the front bumper: Put the car back in the garage and put it on jackstands under the suspension so i can put the subframe connectors on and start replumbing the brake system as well as some rust cleanup and undercar coating on the bottom side. I’ll probly swap the solid axle out for the irs before taking it off the stands.
95riosnake
That copper color sprinkled into the CF weave is going to look killer on the car when it's finished. I love how the chin/splitter is shaping up also. I would love to see what you'd come up with for a 94-98 cobra front bumper.
ThomasW
Installed the foglights and bezels on the bumper last night: Also relocated the proportioning valve and started running new brake hard lines. They could be better, but they wont be visible, so im not to worried about it. I spent all day together working on replacing the rusted rocker panels on my truck, got one side about 1/2 wayish done. Tomorrow its supposes to rain and the truck doesnt fit in the garage, so i’ll spend the day finishing the brake lines and install the subframe connectors on the mustang.
RedTwilight
Is that the paint from thecoatingstore.com? How have you liked it so far? Does it cover well or seem a bit thin/translucent? I'm looking at some base/clear from them. The price og $340.00 seems to good to be true for a gallon of base, clear, and the reducer and activator. I just don't want a cheap paint that sprays on thin and doesn't have the coverage.

The copper gets 1 light coat and is then left to flash, then 2 medium wet coats and that is all. Clear normally gets 4-5 coats for the extra shine.
ThomasW
Been crazy busy with work, but the past few weeks ive made some progress: Underside of the car was cleaned and a rust sealer/prevention primer and black paint applied. I also recoated the wheel wells with a rubberized undercoating: I also painted the hood and mirror caps: Sprayed a test panel for the possibility of some ghost racing stripes: Removed the IRS from ole red the donor car: Then i finished bending and installing new rear brake hardlines and stuffed the irs into the project car: Here is what the car looked like just prior to installing the irs: Then i started installing the Front Cobra brakes onto the IRS. A custom bracket, minimal trimming of the dust shield (I’ll likely make new ones from CF or something) and a littl grinding of the ridges on the top of the cobra calipers and it fits like a glove: I also ordered Everything needed to run 14” GT500 brembo’s up front. Based on my research and some measurement, its looking Very possible i’ll be able to use my 17” FR500’s.

ThomasW
Swapped the stock suspension over into ole red. Then pulled the UPR tubular suspension into the garage. I’ll like add some reinforcement gussets and tubes to this thing to beef it up. Theres also rust alread pushing through the paint, so it’ll have ti get cleaned up and painted again. I also picked up a used stock shifter boot and cut all the sewn seams. I used it for a template to cut some pieces out of this faux CF embossed leather. I also was looking at upholestry threas and found a color that’ll go well with the car:
Prokiller
i doubt you'll be able to fit the 17" gt500s. and depending on the bracket you'll be using, the offset will give you a problem. when i put my vintage venom kit on, i was able to fit the 18" gt500s i had, but it was very close. I’ll be making my own bracket as im trying to limit the need for a spacer between the hub and rotor. Im unsure if its possible, but thats kind of part if the fun. I bought these and thought I’d be getting the set of brackets from the other place but the serious lack of communication, almost feels downright like s refusal to communicate. If if I remember correctly his was the same as his gt500 brackets but you had to use spacers. Last I had seen he was gonna try to start making a set that didn’t need the spacers but that was a long time ago and that’s what I can’t get him to respond about. Obviously it would be preferable to not add additional spacers if not needed on something like brakes. If lwarrior can’t grt those to you for some reason then let me know and I could see about shippOmg mine. Yea the 3/4” spacer is what killed it for me just buying stuff from the other guys. I have a tubular front suspension with under 1k miles and really didnt want to spend $250 to replace the A arms for fox length arms. We’ll see what Lwarrior has to say and figure it out from there. I believe the other guys have used the S550 calipers with their current bracket/spacer setup, but it appears that the caliper needed the webbing between the mount ears on the caliper removed. Far more work than i would want to do.
ThomasW
The wife sewed up a shift boot for me: also pulled the body harness and ecu harness from the donor: swapped the pedal box over: And now that the GT500 brake bracket design is complete, i painted the front brake calipers:

ThomasW
Got the fuel pressure gauge installed and wired up with the rest of the A pillar gauges: Got almost all of the interior associated with the dash reinstalled after swapping the dash harness from the red car onto the original dash for the white car. I also installed the computer and pcm harness. Then i needed to route all of the wiring from the gauges through the firewall. Typically i would have just cut a slit in the rubber boot near the hydroboost. This time, i had a hole where the hood pop cable goes through the firewall, so i enlarged that hole and used it for the pass through for the boost, electric fuel pressure, wideband, oil pressure and water temp. Then looped it all up and used a velcro tye to hold it out of the way. Then just to see what it looked like. I bolted the painted brembo’s up to the bracket. I had alread rebagged and sprayed the rotor with oil to prevent rusting, so i didnt bother pulling it back out. The Brembo logo isnt noticeable from a distance which is exactly what i was shooting for.

ThomasW
Some stuff has been arriving for the past week or two. Some front Bilstein’s showed up, so thay completes the damper package. I also got all the stuff for the AN hose hydroboost conversion. I also got a tap and some -8 orb to 8an male fittings to convert the valvecovers to AN line breathers. Also picked up a Mishimotor power steering reservoir. Its a nice piece, but it has an O-ring seal and no vent, which i was surprised to see. Oh well, nothing a drill bit cant fix. Haha Some random box showed up today with some S550 calipers. It appears that they will fit my adapter bracket with just slight mods to the caliper and the same mods to the spindle. I am amazed at the size differences from 94-04 cobra, GT500 and S550 calipers. Its crazy! I then got all the teflon washers put on the metric to AN adapters and installed those: I also started routing the ptfe hoses from the hydroboost into the fender well area and cutting them over length so i know i have enough hose to work with. Here is a photo of the P/S reservoir and where i hope to put it. Its a tight fit, but it should work. I also got a roll of 1kg Black ABS plastic for the 3D printer, so now i need to draw up and print some AN hose separators.
