Venom351R
This was suppose to happen last fall. In a way I'm glad it was delayed b/c of the newer stuff that is out (but the next new stuff is always around the corner so you never win) But overall I'll have a much better PC build then last years list of parts. I'm pretty much building it as a gaming PC but will be able to do other PC type things as well. Currently I just have my laptop which I'll probably just start taking to school with me since I'll have a dedicated home PC. I do have a Dell Insperion PC but its old as dirt and slow and I hate it so down stairs it sits. I have built it w/ the intention of shredding any PC game currently on the market and for ones down the road to come and will be set up for SLI at some point when one GPU proves to not be enough. One thing missing from the build is the OS which will be Win 7 Professional but it is not listed b/c I can get it free from school which cuts down on the build cost and allows for some things to be upgraded from what I was originally going to get. I wanted to keep the build around the $1,500 mark which I have and I have also asked for some gift cards for Xmas which will be going towards the build and some parts are being bought for Xmas for gifts I hope. So I may get out of this getting a $1,500 system for just over $1,000 out of pocket. Pretty much decided that I dont want to waitt for the next generation of consoles every time to see cutting edge graphics and game play especially when PC's are so far ahead of them at any point to begin with. There are a lot of great games on PC that never see consoles as well. So without further delay I present you the parts list, feel free to comment good or bad http://pcpartpicker.com/p/poP1 Edited November 25, 2012 by Venom351R
Knuckles
hay just as a heads up maybe think about getting different peripherals, Razer has a new 2013 Death Adder which i had for a while the older version anyways. I now own the Naga Epic 2012. I cant say enough about Razer stuff it might cost you a few more bucks but its definetely worth it. Ive had quite a few keyboards as well from Logitech G15 and g19s to a Razer Lycosa and now my Razer Black Widow Ultimate. If you do decide to get the Widow its mechanical and a bit louder than a normal keyboard but the feedback you get while gaming from it is amazing it just feels more visceral if that makes sense. I do alot of gaming and have done competitive gaming for a while so Ive had a while to sort out the stuff I like. I really like your choice in GPU as well, I currently run 2 GTX 460 EVGA superclocked cards in SLI and I have experience with my good friends computer running a superclocked 570, we have yet to find games that bog down our systems. The 600 series looks amazing so I have zero doubt you will wreck threw any game at max settings. Also your choice of I5 is great they are amazing for gaming I chose an I7 on mine but although i might be able to outclock an I5 it really doesnt matter I mean at what point do I need 5+GHZ for gaming you know. Anyways would love to see pics as you get this going.Knuckles

Venom351R
I will thanks for the input. Corsair has a great rep, their new keyboards and mice are getting great reviews. I was going to get the Rat 7 but decided to try out the corsair instead. One thing I did change was the Powersupply. I decided to go with a 750W since I think the other was a bit over kill. Even if I SLI the 670 it still should be enough power. I was set on getting the Cooler Master Enforcer case for along time until I saw the NZXT Phantom cases. I'll start getting some of these parts right after christmas especially if they are running deals on them as far as rebates or price drops, the rest will come when my income tax comes in which should be in mid Feb. I'll do a build thread once it all comes in. Will be my first build and I'll bring it all into school with me and build it there since they have all the anti static mats and wrist straps for handling parts. So many Pre built gaming PC's come with the i7 but its such a waste if your mostly dealing with gaming. It was the same way with the i52500K as well. Just seems to make no sense to me when you see at PC with an i7 and 16GB of Ram and all its used for is gaming. Granted mine will double as a home PC and maybe even some video editing at some point and if so I'll throw in more RAM if I feel as though it needs it. Venom351R
I dont need 16GB but if the price is right at the time of buying all if this I would consider more. I have no need for an i7...big waste of money. I dont like the looks of the Fractional case, to plain and no side window to show off all the cool stuff I just put together.BTW that HD you listed for a build is discontinued.I also noticed the processor I picked was not the K model, I changed that as well b/c I do plan on overclocking. Brian
Can you give your reasoning to why the i7 is a big waste of money? Just curious.
Venom351R
Because its primairly a gaming computer. I dont need any of the added benifits of an i7 for just gaming. Very few guys on the PC Gamer forurms use anything but the i5 when it comes to intel builds. The added price of the i7 yeilds no bennifits for me for what I'll be using it for. If that set up I have listed will shread any game at 60FPS + for a long time to come w/ out even an SLI set up then why pay extra for an i7?
