alternator disassemble question.

Recommended Posts

geeeeezz i ask a LOT of tech questions. here comes another, lol

anyone ever took apart their alt.? i was about to send mine off to get polished but i could just do it myself once i make sure that when i take it apart it's not going to be a crazy ass puzzle of parts to try to put back together. JOEKD did you take yours apart when you painted yours?

i'll find that write up. i remember you painted it like a real dark grey. looked good. kinda made it go away, lol. which is'nt a bad idea cause these alt. are def front and center, lmao!!

Please tell me you at least took the pulley off before you ghetto sprayed it
wtf is ghetto spray? didnt you just spray paint your alt, lol? i did'nt remove the pulley, just taped it off.

i wanted to send it out to get polished but i still would need to disassemble it first, then when i get the parts back..reassemble it. so my next project will be to see how a 99-04 alt. will work. they make them polished. look the same as ours, lol.

Just busting your ass about the rattle can tape and spray Tony

Too bad you aren't closer, I still have a spare alt in my garage that you could of practiced with. It has a bad bearing but I held onto it in case I ever needed a core or wanted to change the color of my alt case.
