PapaSmurf
Been wanting do do a battery relocation in the mustang for awhile now. My question is DO I HAVE TO get a disconnect switch to be TRACK LEGAL both IHRA and NHRA? Im a little confused. It would make the installation less time consuming and easier and I dont really feel like I need a disconnect switch. Here is a link to the kit im interested in purchasing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g1231-k/overview/ Edited June 11, 2013 by PapaSmurf
64bit_Tuning
AFAIK, it is required. But it is far from difficult or time consuming to install .
revhead347
Yes, the disconnect switch is required. Like mentioned in the other thread, you must also run the alternator power wire back to the switch as well.Kurt
F8L GT
8:4 MASTER CUTOFFMandatory when battery is relocated, or as outlined in ClassRequirements. 64bit_Tuning
I like the flaming river push/pull switches. I've seen guys mount them down in the spare tire well. You cut a small hole in the bumper for the rod to poke out, and it can even be removed when you're not at the track.

F8L GT
If I could do it over again I would probably do a Push/Pull through the bumper

I kind of like the look of the switch with the on/off label. Makes the rear look a little intimidating imo
