auto_x5.0
What compression would be good to use with e85 and pump gas, it will be a turbo 357w that I have. Also will a turbo from a 2001 Ford 7.3 PS be worth anything for a cheap junkyard build or should I get a holset from a Cummins. If you guys need any other answers let me know. I know everything about the motor, I just don't want to clutter up a post with a bunch of nonsense
itsblown93
i know a guy that is running a boosted 96 cobra at like 11:1 on E85 it may even be a little more i cant remember. but its at like 15psi also
01yellercobra
If there's a chance you'll be running pump gas I would keep it around 9:1. Make up the power with timing and boost when you're running E85. For the turbo you'd have to find out the specs and see if it'll work for your set up. auto_x5.0
On low boost you think some 42#'ers and a good tune would cover it?
01yellercobra
No. Go with at least 80's since you're planning on E85. You might need more depending on your power goal.
Luis@OrtizPerformance
42s will barely be enough for the turbo let alone e85. You need 80s at the bare minimum. As for the turbo goes, just get a 100 dollar T70 GT35 turbo from ebay. They are alright and makes good power. I had 2 of them in 2 different set ups and they were great but you will want to upgrade later on.
Forcefedhatch
Actually go for the gt45.. Contact vsracing .. 325 shipped if I remember correctly, and they are good for about 600+.. Perfect for a small block, that's what I will be basing my future kits off of..Sent from my iPhone
auto_x5.0
Would a gt45 be to big though, I really don't care about instant boost a little lag is fine. But I would like to have boost before 3500rpm or at least close to full boost by then. Should I just do 60# injectors and call it done?
01yellercobra
Do the 80's and be done. More room then the 60's and just as easy to tune as 39's.
Musturd
Yea do 80's you'll max out 60's easily.
auto_x5.0
Any specific brand to look for? Used, new, reman'ed, etc
01yellercobra
FRPP and Seimens Deka are the same. Mine are labeled SD. I had an easier time tuning these at part throttle then I did the 39's I was running. I think another company worth looking into is R/C Dynamics. Or something like that. Their injectors are good from what I've heard, but they're $$$.Misspelling brought to you by Tapatalk
