auto_x5.0
What do I need? I read that if I use fox shift fork, bellhousing, and input shaft it will work; then I read that I need a sn95 input, bell, and shift fork. What do I truly need, can I use a fox t5 and go buy a fox shift fork and be done? Do I need an sn95 bellhousing, input shaft, and shift fork? Det_Riot
If you keep your bellhousing, shift fork, etc, then all you need is a shop to swap the input shaft on the fox trans to an sn trans.
auto_x5.0
I have an auto, but my dad has a t5 out of a foxbody. so what Im trying to figure is do I need all the sn stuff or can I get away with a full fox tranny
01yellercobra
I'm pretty sure the T-5 is longer in the SN-95's. You need the SN-95 bellhousing and input shaft in order for it to work. I don't know about the tail shaft housing.
OnyxCobra
yeah the SN95 T5 has a longer input shaft, you could use the fox bell housing and T5 but the shifter will sit further forward in the car and you may have to work around the clutch fork because it's in a little different spot on the foxes. Also should probably run a small driveshaft spacer to take up the extra slack from the shorter fox T5. I guess you my have to modify the trans crossmember too. 64bit_Tuning
Keep the auto, swapping to a weak fox T5 isnt a great option.consider buying a 98-01 2WD Explorer 4R70W with an upgraded valve body.
revhead347
They are both correct. You can use the Fox T5 bellhousing, input shaft and fork, but then you should put a spacer at the end of the driveshaft. They aren't that expensive. Or you can swap to an SN input shaft with an SN bellhousing and fork.Kurt
