wmfateam
SO my car has 255's on it on factory 96 cobra rims(I believe they are 8" wide) I believe these are too wide for this rim, especially when it comes to cornering force causing the tire to want to fold over. Any thoughts?
Det_Riot
As far as for racing goes or for general everyday driving?
OnyxCobra
94/95 Cobras came with 255/45-17 on 17x8 so I'd say they are fine.
atlanticblue98
Yeah. That's the factory size ford chose for 94-95. And I have 275 on my 8 inch wide wheels
Blackmage
im running 255/45/17 on my 17x8's and they fit good, look good. not the best for performance, shoulda gone with a 245 or 235 if i wanted to carve corners a little better. but i like em. wmfateam
Okay thanks, Tirerack was telling me 245 and I was planning on corners over looks/drag racing. They are 8-9 years old I have worked at a dealership for too long to think just because it has good tread it is fine.
OnyxCobra
the size is fine for the wheel but if it bothers you a 245/45 would be a fine replacement. but yeah that's getting to be a pretty old tire.
