RockinHrse_98
Haven't posted on here for quite a while, but I figured I'd share some detailing pictures of a car I rescued from the crusher about a year ago. Great little car, figured it'd make a good gas saver or weekend driver for someone. Anyway, cut to the chase, the car is an Australian 1991 Mercury Capri, YES I said Australian. Poor thing had been sitting neglected for years and was about to be crushed into a cube. I pulled the car out of the weeds and literally drove the old girl an hour and a half home.Products used:Machines:Porter Cable 7424XPNo Name Rotary PolisherWash:Meguiars Gold Class WashInterior:Meguiars Supreme Shine Interior ProtectantMeguiars Rich Leather ConditionerGlass:Stoner Invisible GlassCompound/Polish:Meguiars M105 Ultra Cut CompoundMeguiars M205 Ultra Finishing CompoundMeguiars Machine GlazeSealants/Wax:My Secret ProductAutoGlym HD (2 coats)Tire Shine:Meguiars Endurance Ultra Gel BEFORE:After a WashBUFFING TIME!!!!- - - Updated - - -THE AFTERMATH!!!! MMR
You sure did an anazing job on that car, looks brand new!Car looks like an absolute piece of crap car though, one of those cars that were crap even when they rolled out of the factory, like 95% of the cars Suzuki or Daihatsu has ever made. RockinHrse_98
wow nice job man. What'd you use under the hood and what'd you do about the drivers side door? Thanks. The valve cover had the factory black crinkle paint flaking off but it was leaking anyway so I pulled it and repainted it using gray engine enamel and chrome paint for the fins. I used simple green and water to wash it the engine bay. For the dressing I used Turtle Wax (I believe it's F21) Tire Foam, and Jax Wax Super Blue. Chemical Guys Black on Black also works wondersAs far as the drivers side door, I just chipped the clear coat down to where it quit peeling with my fingernail, wet sand it even, and compounded the living snot out of it till it somewhat blended haha.dang man! thats some serious correction, lol. good work man! Thanks bud.You sure did an anazing job on that car, looks brand new!Car looks like an absolute piece of crap car though, one of those cars that were crap even when they rolled out of the factory, like 95% of the cars Suzuki or Daihatsu has ever made.I appreciate it. Truthfully it wasn't the best made car for sure. Wasn't the worth either though. After I did an oil change and a good thorough tune-up it ran and drove like a top. Honestly it rode like it was on rails, very stiff chassis. It's basically a FWD Miata. I hate Miatas, which is why I sold it. Overall it wasn't a bad car, just not my style.- - - Updated - - -FYI: As you can tell, the front and rear bumpers were hopeless. They had to be repainted, otherwise the car came out pretty good.
