Favorite summer camping place.. THis lake is at 9200 FT and is a brutal 5 mile hike.. The best part.. The upper lake is connected to a lower lake by a 30 foot waterfall.. Then the middle lake is connected to the lowest lake by a 500 foot waterfall!!!!!

Natural Brige Falls... This place is soooooo cool... In the summer the water runs underneath where I am standing and comes out 100 feet below thru a cave....

In the Spring, the water flows OVERTOP of where I'm standing and makes a 100 foot waterfall!!!!

I feel like my Nikon D70 is just wasting away after seeing those shots. I pretty much leave mine in automatic mode and click. Every once in a while I get lucky, but not to this caliber.

This one is on the Buffalo Jump.. The wind blows up the face. My dog Shelby kept running along the edge of the 100 foot plus cliff and I couldn't figure out why.... She liked the wind blowing in her face lol....

Roommate fishing the upper lake... This was around July 10 and the last day of photography season for me.. A fire had started that day, and it was smokey for the rest of the summer all over Montana.. it was AWFUL.. you can see the awful lighting on this day even... I'm praying this year isn't like that.. I always work up until the middle of June, so I don't get any pics before that...

Nasty creek crossing.. Wasn't too bad this year.. Last year we were already knee deep in snow in July, and the creek was RAGING.. Had to tie ropes to ourselves and the dog to get across safely... Sketchiest thing I've done in a long time.. Later in the hike, my tripod saved me from sliding down a 500ft snow chute that would have likely severerly injured or killed me.. I had trekking poles somewhere at home, but my GF couldn't fucking figure out where she put them......... Wasn't happy

And finally, this is the MASSIVE lower waterfall into the lowest lake... It's so big in person it hurts your neck looking up at it...

I just recently switched to full manual and have been having great success. I mainly watch the light meter to make sure it "0"s out. Then I tweak from there to get what I want. It's working well.

I'm usually somewhere around +2/3 or more.. Seems like my camera always wants to underexpose more than I would like

You got an extra room? Your pictures are making me want to move.

lol. Bozeman is an AMAZING place to live man.. It's beautiful.. and there is always something cool going on.. Lots of shows, concerts, festivals, etc... Usually free or cheap.. I've been alot of places, and nothing compares..

Most of Montana is not this awesome... But this place is special..

If I could find a good paying job in my field I'd be interested. I'm sure I could buy land out there for a damn good price too.

What's your field?? Land here is actually very expensive... About double the normal for Montana lol... But there is a reason, and we are still much much cheaper than places like Cali or the East Coast.

I work in the IT field as a Systems Administrator. I'd be looking for about 5 acres or more if the price is right.

Pittsburgh is a pretty awesome place to live, but I'd take Bozeman in a heartbeat judging by those pictures. Since I grew up in WV and went to college in south western VA, I'm not exactly a city boy so I often get tired of the hustle of city life in Pittsburgh.

Buuuuut, I had to follow my career and this is where it took me, lol.

Anywho, sorry to keep derailing the thread, lol.

I love the nature shots, blwnbyu, but a lot of the photos seem too high contrast or is it an HDR software you are using? I say that because some software makes images look too much like a cartoon, but I am not a fan of HDR photography, because some people rely too much on post-production work.

If you can, post a before and after photo of the photography.
