White on white is da boss

To not clutter my build thread I figured this would be the appropriate section to show this car, this is not really a build thread I guess since it was built a couple years ago?

Don't know how that works out but hey I'll show you guys how I got the car and how it progressed to be a pretty neat looking machine.

Here it is when I first got it, the asking price was decent and the dude was about 1 hour & 30 minutes away, I woke up early with my cousin before work and we headed out. Half way there my cousin says man it's gonna suck if we have to blow 3+ hours of our time for nothing and come back empty handed. I reassured him, we will be coming back with this car.

This is essentially how this car started life when I got it, it was beat up, most of the interior was painted white and it had at least a blown piston ring... or two lol

I then installed a Saleen hood I had that I took off the current car I'm building and installed it on this car because I felt like it was baller :hat: even tho the car looked like shit lol

This picture was the day right before I wrecked the car

Here is it is after I wrecked it, notice the paint missing on the bumper and the rash on the fender - I also reinstalled the stock hood because I was at the point of just getting rid of the car

I then took it to my brother's shop at the time (I now have and operate my own with him as a partner) and proceeded to strip the horrible paint that was on the front bumper and make a failed attempted at repairing the bumper lol my brother revised my attempted repairs that night so don't mind them if you notice it

IMG00234-20100104-2351_zpsbfa00df4.jpg

With that being said, I got angry, very very angry and completely tore the car apart like a raging lunatic - I do this often mind you

I had some Saleen wheels that were in silver, silver is nice... but not for the look I was going for

You definitely have a way with a car. I'm not normally a fan of white but you really have a great looking build! I wish I had the time and talent to do the same to my Cobra.

What engine and trans are you running? What gears?

Thanks man, I appreciate that :D

The car was just a stock rebuilt 302 with a svo motorsport gt40 intake, cai, pulleys & full exhaust. I was running 4.10s in it with also a rebuilt t5. The 4.10s made that car a hoot to drive! Unfortunately I don't have the car anymore, I sold it to a good friend of mine who wouldn't leave me alone about it, he nonstop kept asking me to sell it to him for over a year and a half i believe and I finally gave in when I felt like I was done with the car.

Also, when I was building the car I had my mind set to make it look good and do with a S351R double stack wing. Most people hate it, but no one had anything bad to say about it when it was on my car ;) I had the option of doing a 281 wing or single deck 351 wing but I just felt that this car needed the double stack and that it would rock it so good.

I agree with you. Your car pulls off the double stack wing really well. Awesome build man. Sucks you don't have it anymore, but definitely a good looking car after it was all said and done!

Tapatalk made me do it!

i woulda left it alone right here:

I would agree Tony but there's one thing, the car was definitely very photogenic in that stage of it's life. It didn't really look all that good in person especially wingless and the big saleen body kit. It very much had a "something's missing here" type of look in person

It definitely looks way better with the double stack over a single or S281 would on the back. See if you can get your friend to sign up here. I'd like to see what he has done with it.

i love this thing. i don't like white cars but theres something about a white saleen with the white wheels that always gets me. that SR wing looks right at home on there too, pulls it off very nicely.

I would tell him to join in on all the fun but he ended up running into a financial pinch & sold it to another friend of ours that sells cars for a living, so naturally that guy ended up selling the car as well, to a dude that was in a local car club that no longer exists so god knows where that car is now :-\

Thanks! Also, I feel exactly the same way, don't like white but white on white Saleens have always tickled me in the right spot.
