My Creation: Sonic Blue New Edge Hotwheel Car

Recommended Posts

Ok, so it's not really a real car, but I didn't know where to post it, and yes I am a man who still collects toy cars, so don't give me too much crap for it lol.

Well the story behind it, me and most of my buddies have model cars or something of our cars that we take to shows. My little car club, Meanstreet Mustangs, are like brothers, we look out for each other. Well our buddy Jerry didn't have one of his car and could never find one, so I made one. Just thought it would be a cool birthday gift for a brother.

Started as an old beat up Hotwheel car I got at a thrift store.

Yes I know it didn't turn out perfect, but I thought it turned out pretty good considering I'm not an experienced painter, and I used a rattle can in an uncontrolled environment (on a pizza box on my back porch) haha.

I did the same thing with a die cast model, all I could find was a yellow one so I took it apart, sanded and painted it Laser Red to match my GT when I had it

Sweet man. I have an airbrush I was going to use but my air compressor motor burned up

Looks close enough to me!! I like it!

Appreciate it bro.

Sweet dude. I have a 1:18th Saleen model that I'd like to turn into a clone of my car.

That'd be sweet man. Heck I still got about 3/4 can of sonic blue rattle can paint on my shelf haha. I have a buddy who makes custom hotwheels and model cars for people. I don't know what he charges but I can put you in touch with him if you decide you want to do it.

kinda cool... i'd like one of my car one of these days, but older Sn95's aren't easy to come by anymore.

I wish I could find an SN95 one so I could make one of for my car but my buddy who's a Hotwheel collector said he thinks they only made convertible ones.

Dude that's an awesome collection. I'm still a broke college student so I can't afford nice toys yet, I just get hotwheels and models when I see em in a thrift store for cheap haha.

thats pretty cool! if you cant buy one exactly like your car make it!

I can't find a 94-98 Coupe car or I would. I have a model of it I just want a hotwheel too haha. I guess I sorta named the posting wrong, all I did was the "bodywork" and paint, I didn't make the whole thing.

try flea markets and swap meets. ive found probably 8-10 model 94-98 cars.  they're tough to find and i cannot find anything bigger than like 1/25th scale.
