That time once again, try to get into the 12's by fall

Well now that I completed my quest to drop 1 full second this year from last year, it's on to chomping off at the bit a little more and try for a 12.99 or better.

Here's the slips comparison, 3560lbs last year to 3420 lbs this year and the addition of the bolt ones in my last thread

Since this slip on July 2nd I've swapped my ticking lifters out for some new ford racing r302h lifters, ported the intake, put the car on a huge diet(which I'm still doing so far)

Removed all Ac and heat components, including blower assy., heater core(dash is basically a shell now, also swapped out the power seat track and fabbed up the track from a foxbody to work. Removed the crash bars front and rear, and have yet to remove the sound deadening and door speakers, goal is to get around 2800 lbs, now it tipped at 3000 even

Also got a deal on a 4.10 gear, so I'll be swapping it out in place of the 3.73 within a week or two

Here were a few runs from July 2nd of this year.. The video vs the montecarlo was run right after the jr dragsters so it was still on 1/8 mile.. Weak lol

My ghetto ram air is in the works.. Its very rough looking.. But it'll be smoothed out and flat black and be interchangeable wth an oem headlight..

Hahah, maybe over winter lol, I am really wanting to do this NA lol everyone I know is turbo or supercharged or spray and that's awesome! But the only ones they race are each other, none really get much action unless it's out of town people. I want to be able to enjoy it any time, and not worry so much about being on top all the time lol. But it may get boost later down the road, I still have a spare blower on hand if needed, and I'm here at the machine shop at work now. So it could become a custom bracketed reality lol

Well finished the headlight setup, also made a sheet metal air box. Also started swapping gears, noticed the bearings in the carrier were shot, those are swapped out now, now waiting to finish install between football practice and work lol

Thanks Bryan!! Soon as possible really, right now the carpet is gone, and already started to remove the sound deadening material!! This job sucks btw!!

Between this and my sons football practice.. Time for the track is short. But when I do get to go, I wanna be completely ready 100%!!

I've found that using a rubber mallet and a narrow scraper does quite well.. I am looking into the dry ice method lol

Well, I did pick up a fantastic setup for my next build on this car.. 1969 351w block, will be bored about .030" and just freshened up. Will also get a healthy roller cam conversion as well as a move 76-80mm turbo on it to boot. Once the 302 pops.. The real fun begins. Till then I'm still truck in on this 12's NA 302 setup!

Well got out.. Not what I had hoped for, but from about the 1000ft mark to the stripe it was on the limiter.. That 5500 redline killed me with the addition of the 4.10 gear.. But all in all it still went faster and I know there's a lot more left in it.. And the 60' got better..

And the video of the two runs i got in lol, It was packed. It hit the limiter on the 2-3 shift as well on the first run. Second run I shifted it manually,but still got the limiter around the 1000ft mark.. I know going to a 28" tire (on a 315/35/17 or 26" tire now) will help alleviate the limiter issue, but it will still be an issue when more power is thrown at it over winter anyway.
