Moderators Psychorugby Posted February 18, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted February 18, 2013 Not sure where else to put this...I have a 66 Mustang GT that I built about 15 years ago when I had little to no clue what I was doing. My dad and I plumbed braided fuel lines to the fuel pump using only hose clamps. Now I am trying to plumb the pump up correctly using AN fittings and hose ends. I have no idea which parts to order. I am using a Holley 12-833 80gph mechanical fuel pump with 1/4" NPT orifices, 5/16" ID stainless steel braided line, generic inline fuel filter (do I need to run a pre and post filter?) that runs between pump and Holley 4150 type carb. I also have a fuel cell instead of a OEM fuel tank, which I might swap back to OEM if this proves a difficult as it looks so far. What all do I need to plulmb the tank, pump, filter(s), and carb correctly?

I would definitely run a filter pre and post pump. For your ease heres a chart to help you convert everything to AN sizeshttp://www.gre6.com/ansize

Fuel lines are 5/16", although I think the current braided hose I am running is longer. I think I will be using AN-6 hose and fittings.
Steve-Oh
Also you might want to take a look at: http://www.russellperformance.com/ and http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/speciality-adapters-fittings/They both have tons of different styles of fittings. You'll most likely be able to find what you need there.

I just need to figure out if (a) the hose I have will work, (b) how much hose I need if I need to get new hose, © hose to fuel cell fittings, and (d) tools needed to do this. Steve-Oh
On the topic of tools: I think I remember Rio saying he bought plastic covers to go over his wrenches that kept from messing up the AN fittings. I think they also make special wrenches as well just for AN. Shit's expensive lol!

My wife is already pissed enough that I need to spend $300 just to get the car running so that I can put it in storage while we move... and it already ticks her off that I work on the 95 more than I even think about the 66.
