Project Deceptive GT "The Reboot"

Recommended Posts

So, I went to work on the wiring harnesses for the radio and the gauges. The radio headunit is done. The gauges, not so much. The pins for the connectors kept distorting upon crimping so I need to go back to research on connectors. I did have a good time working, watching the NMRA, and enjoying some drink.

I got my J2Fab 270A alternator so I should have no power issues.

And I also got my custom overlays for the PSV-1 and ECF-1 to match my Simco Gauges.

Got some work done. I removed the 12V in the center console and replaced it with a dual USB port. This will plug into the DMX906S, one is for the Apple CarPlay. I worked on prepping the rear axle housing. Plan is to get it cleaned, prepped, and coated/painted. I also worked on the gas tank. I got the Evap Lines cleaned and removed the two clips to remove the rust, prime, and paint. Last thing I did was get the FORE fuel hat and pumps installed into the Glenn’s Performance Baffled Tank.

I am probably going to make a change to one of the pieces of the build. I will decide this week.

I will be doing a lot of cleaning and prepping for rust inhibitor and priming then coating or painting the underside and the engine bay.

Also got the Simco Gauges and Pod mounted.

Like I said, next step is cleaning and prepping the engine bay and underside to include the wheel wells. I hope to be putting this back together in 3-4 weeks.

Loading the truck up to drop some stuff off to make certain I have a strong rear end...

Anyhow, here is what my rear end will be getting.
Strange 31 Spline Axles
Eaton Detroit True-Trac LSD (not the CIA LSD)
FRPP 3.55 Gears
FRPP Install Kit
Swarr Bar
11” Rear Brake Kit
Ford Racing Diff Cover w/ARP Fasteners
ARP 3” Wheel Studs
Prothane UCA Poly Bushing

My rear end has already had the axle tubes welded, Strange Billet Main Caps, and quad shock mounts deleted.

So I have more parts for the car at the house that are fun.

Shelby Mike Racing Billet Timing Arms and upgraded pins.

Got the tv mounted. I feel like I may move it lower and to the left then move the SVTP banner up a bit.

GT500 intercooler pump

And got my King HP Rod Bearings in

Since the rod bearings came in it meant we are ready. Two Teksid Blocks heading to the machine shop just to make certain we are good. By the time I was finished loading things the entire bed was full and so was the floor of the passenger side.

So parts are at the powder coater.

Timing cover and spindles are going to be Terra Gray 2; if I remember correctly.

Supercharger Tank, Coolant Tank, Pulley Bridge, Radiator Cover, and Power Steering Tank are all being done in Super Matte Black.

The Cobra R Brembos are having “BREMBO” done in Terra Gray 2 and the calipers in Penny Vein.

Got the engine stuff back from the machine shop.

CR will be 10:1, Livernois Drain Back Kit is installed along with lots of ARPness, and Cobra Engineering’s pivot pins for the timing components.
