The almighty EPIC engine bay thread

Recommended Posts

I'm sure that I'm not alone in my utter obsession with engine bays. Whether it's a race car, show car or something in between...I could stare at engine bays all day long. I'm someone who loves to pour over the details, so I really appreciate seeing others do the same. I find beauty in all types of cars' engines; be it a drag car, road race car, show car, pro-touring, hot rod, stance scene, truck scene... you name it, I probably dig it. I figured it might be cool to kill some time tonight and finally get around to making this thread I've been thinking about starting for some time now. My hope is to keep this thread going, if anyone finds something sick while browsing the vast expanse of automotive culture, please add it here! Without further ado, enjoy the contents of my "Engine Bays" folder.

Nice setup, its pretty much how Ill be pluming mine. Bulkheads for anything that needs to come into the bay. Only differences will be location and fittings and lines as yall know I need more bling than that

i don't know why you even bothered having Butch paint the bay, you should have just polished it all....

haha ryan butch did polish it.........right after he buffed it. Ive wanted to run the bulkheads ever since I swithed over to the braided lines in 08, but I didnt want to plumb them in till I had that stupid hole behind the passenger shock tower filled. Every winter ive told Tom I was gonna fill it but just kinda lost interest in the entire car after my divorce. Heck I was so bored with the car I had posted it over on corral a year or so ago but I decided to just upgrade everything instead of starting over. Lets just say I couldnt walk away from it until it was completed.

Dan thats gonna be a few months lol

I didn't know you considered selling your car, I would've been bummed if you did. I've always loved your car, by far my favorite vert, with Paul's in second. I'm sure when I see the new version of it I'll just love it more. I respect you biting off the big chunk of redoing the entire car in one sweep, I would have felt overwhelmed about 6-7 months in, haha.

This thread is porno!

Glad you like it! It took forever to post all those pictures lol. I was just looking through my engine bays folder on my laptop at home a while back and thought damn, this is quite the collection of awesomeness, I bet it would make a good thread!

I really hope we can keep it going, obviously people don't have to lay down 180+ pictures like I did, but I think it would be cool for people to throw in any sick engine bays they come across.

Yeah I think Tom and Charlie were the only ones who I talked to it about. As far as hammering it out in one sweep thats the only way I know it will get done lol. I already passed that overwelmed part while I was spending everyday in the engine bay. Once butchy laid the first coat of paint on it everything was back to normal lol. Just cant stand doing body work its just not my thing and the bay was really getting to me felt as if I wasnt getting anything done. Now its just a matter of time, as will I have enough of it to finish by my deadline. I guees well find out in a few months lol

Send me a plane ticket when the time gets near and I'll come thrash on it to finish it for Mustang week, lol. It's too bad we're all ridiculously far away from each other, I'd gladly come help out you, Tom and Ryan with stuff if it was just a trip across town.

Toms the same way as weve spoke about this in the past. Heck Im so bad I dont tell anyone when I hit the shop I even turn off my phone and lock the doors. When visitors pop in nothing gets done.

A couple of Fluid Motor Union's M3 masterpieces:

Then they turned the trumpets all crazy (not a fan of this orientation, I liked the look better out to the sides)

Haha, internal combustion porn is what I was going for. I am planning to just drop more tasty engine bays in here as I come across them...I'd like this to become a long-lasting thread if possible.

Side note, the last car I posted, the black hot rod with quad turbos is actually semi-local to me. I saw it in person at a local cruise and the sound of that thing is intense.
