I always appreciate information like this. First he calls to get a price on a shortblock, then we get a letter in the mail with him asking for about $3000 and now we find out it's sitting at InTune. Yet I have screen shots from FB where he said it was tuned to 703hp at 24lbs of boost and it's running great. If anyone ever sees something that doesn't add up, please let us know. :)

As for the oven, we need to order some high temp wire, rope insulation for the door to seal against and hinges/clamps. Since we have a job this weekend we'll have some money to put towards these parts.

I have to get my hair cut after work then drop the car off at Josh's I'll try to remember to get a picture of it sitting up there on my way out today.  Yeah it's been sitting in the same spot for at least two days.  I didn't pay attention at lunch to see if it was there but I'll try after work.

I loaded the door with Rock Wool and got the other side on. I just bought a $25 rivet gun from Sears and got it for $16 with a coupon. Worked flawlessly. Snapped the rivet on the third try every time. We were having trouble with the other rivet gun we were using because it would always lose its grip. We want to get some handles on it this week and take it back to the shed where we can finish it and put it in its spot. @Sleeperstang1994 ordered some stuff. I'll let him share that later.

Ok got some decent work done this evening. We are welding "handles" on so we can more easily move the oven around. The idea is one lower towards the heavy base and one higher so we can tip it on its side If need be. Also Got our high temp circulation fan and also our door seal and locks.

so is it done yet?

Haven't been able to work on it yet. The compressor was unwired to wire up a 220v outlet for our TIG welder so the compressor needs wired up again. I had to source a cutoff wheel without a shield that will fit in a tight space. We are currently trying to cut openings to mount the heating elements.

As a small filler. And also so I don't muck up Dans thread. I had to repair the drill we have been using. It's an old Milwaukee from my grandfather. The internal fan broke. So I found most parts for this model are discontinued however a guy on eBay sells an "upgraded" aluminum unit. Enough chat I like pictures

Everything back together and it works great. It sounds like some of the bearings should be replaced so I'll look for those now :)

AND just to finish off this completly unrelated powder coat oven thread I leave you with some instructions I received from Ford today :)

Cheers for fixing the Milwaukee! That's what I like to see, plus right angle drills aren't cheap. Pretty cool that someone makes a fan upgrade, I would have never expected that.

If Ford had written instructions for the drill it would probably go like this:

1) Locate drill.

2) Fix drill.

lol

Installation is reverse of removal.

Put the door on and hot box it. Lol!

Kind of like seasoning a cast iron pan lol. You need to infuse the metal panels of the oven with herbs to guarantee proper coating in the future. It's science man.

Is this done yet?

I'm picking up a garage oven this weekend to play with duracoat and gun parts...around 250* for 2 hrs. Long term is to get into some powder coating too.

I may strip this guy for parts.

and build a bigger oven out of a el' cheapo Stack on single layer gun safe. More like a metal cabinet labeled for guns.

It's pretty much all together. We have a small sheet metal piece to finish putting on and one hinge. Then we need to put the deal on. We heated it up already. I deleted the pictures on my phone so I don't have a picture of the pretty glowing red elements.

I am amazed how many free stoves I see on the curb following what I assume was a remodel.  If it were not because I know it would not be long before I would be wanting something bigger I would have brought one home with me already.  So far I have been happy with the quality and not too unhappy about the quality of my local guy thankfully...

So I know in not on here much anymore. Tapatalk won't work and Safari signs me out. Plus I was almost done with this post but my phone died at 8%. ?

Anyway, the oven is finally done!... For the most part. We just need to add some extra hangers. We heated it to 400 and one of the interior sheet metal walls warped so it needed re-sealed. We also discovered we could use a vent so we rigged something.

And and for some reason the other pictures keep failing to upload. Omg lol.

We we haven't coated anything yet. My alternator case is first on the list. We always seem to be busy with other things and I always run out of time. At least some things are getting done. We assembled our drill press and bandsaw and we are almost done making wheel stands:

I was planning on making some stands like that as well.  Dont you want some type of piece at least going through the middle of the stand for the tires to sit on?

I think I've only read one thread of someone making them with that extra support. I've seen many people make them as we did so I think we'll be fine. A fellow I worked with claimed that's what they used when building hot rods. We used a LOT of screws lol. 4 2.5" per corner plus a single long 3"+ (Can't remember exactly).

I'm hoping to seal them this weekend because they'll be getting used shortly. I have Stifflers jacking rails and web bracing on the way and we have subframe connectors to install on a convertible SN95 soon.
