Dalamar 96 GT

Recommended Posts

I finally made it over here and wanted to post up a few threads and say Hi.

I'm not online nearly as much as I used to be, but check in every so often.

Going to piece together the highlights from my builds and always like to talk shop with fellow mustang fans.

I ordered my 96 new and drove it during collage, and got married.  A few years after that I wanted to modify my car to make it unique and get more power out of it.  Back then" there wasn't a lot of options...

SO after doing a lot of searching and comparison, I went through the standard bolt on's, then did a full motor build , blower, and about everything else.

as a lot of you guys know, it takes time and money, which comes and goes...

Bolt on's - PI head swap - motor build - nitrous - turbo. over about a 5 year period.

Also upgraded suspension, trans and customized and blended body work and repaint.

so anyway, pulling from my 50 page build thread..... here's how I started.

I had a Roush body kit on the car, which i removed, then did the headswap:

Suspension upgrade.

Maximum Motorsports

-Torque Arm,

-Lower control arms.

-Panhard Rod

-MM XD subframe connectiors

-CC plates
-Coilovers on Buillistin shocks/struts

Of the various upgrades to this car the Torque arm and steering bushing are at the top of my list because of how noticeable the improvement is~!

Changing the rear suspension to a 3-link vs the stock 4 link really improves the traction and responsiveness and stability of the mustang.

Bodywork:

Spent lots of time looking at options for the body.  Something clean and not too chunkey....

Saleen 2K sideskirts, the ABC front and modified my rear cover.

ALL the body parts needed to be reworked...

I had it all bonded and blended out.

Repainted the car PPG pure white with metalic pearl.

Here's someprogress pics:

Added to the rear cover to bring the bottom down lower to flow with the sides.

I've been asked about this SO many times.

Here's how it looked before paint.

OK, this brings me to the Turbo install:

The car spent some time in PHX with TRUUBLE for a blower mach up called Rotrex.  As many of you know, he passed so it didn't get finished.

I went with a Hellion Single turbo kit, with the MM specific K and had it installed by a cool guy named Rob at forced induction tuning there in phoenix.

also installed the Vic JR IM and elbow, Moriso alum expansion tank, ect....

Here's some pix on that:

Great to have you here man! Haven't talked to you in a while! Glad to see you still have the SN, and I love the raptor. Hows the pro touring build coming along? Your thread on pro-touring.com is inspiring to say the least.
