glad to see some new posts in this thread. so i know ive asked several times but, any updates on wrapping the interior and the custom console? @95opal

Yeah I know Ronnie, Im just starting to get on the interior in the next couple of weeks as I brang a bunch of it down to Fl with me to finish the fab work. The center console is about 60% done I wont get back on it till I get home as its one of the projects I didn't bring with me this trip. I will be trying a new to me technique for modifying plastic within the next week and will post some updates as I go. I have a few pieces with me that need to be modified so they will be my test pieces before I go home and finish the console.

definitely excited to hear your on the home stretch it sounds like. have you had any estimates on wrapping the interior? i ask so much because i really feel that wrapping the interior will set the car apart from the sea of mustangs you normally see at a show, and its something im on the fence about when i get ready to build my car. cant wait to see it!!

Hoping to have all the fab work completed my March then its all going to my interior guy to get done. If your looking to set your car apart wrapping the interior will blow people away, Think about it...how many sn95s do you see with complete custom guts? I can count the ones ive seen one hand lol. Most every mustanger throws a set of cobra seats in with some UPR trim or aftermarket seats and they call it a day. Don't give it a second thought just roll with it as it couldn't be any worse than the stock ford crap.

my guess is that he soaked strips of 1/8" ABS plastic in acetone for 24 hours and then used the paste like substance mixed with some abs cement to fill the holes and then sanded it smooth...but that's only a guess.

Did you glass the holes in? Looks great @95opal

I'm also curious how you accomplished that?  Some kind of plastic weld or epoxy?  Looks great!

Dan as you know fiberglass and plastic is a no go.

Ryan you have a good memory how long ago did you read my other post? lol

Depends on what kind of plastic it is. On a bumper cover, fiberglass is definitely going to crack. On a radio bezel, you can glass all day long.

Just curious, if Ryan is right that's pretty damn creative.

Dan yes ryan is correct its actually an old trick from repairing quad fairings. A bit tricky and messy but the best bet for plastic and yes fiber on bezels is ok ive done it in the past

Not a huge update but My custom built drive shaft from Precision shaft technologies showed up.

heavy wall aluminum with high speed balance, 31 spline cryo treated slip yoke with solid 1350 ujoints and new strange rear yoke. I will have to tear the rear down to remove the stock pinion flange, take out the crush collar and re shim to use a solid spacer in place of the crush collar before I can put the new Strange 1350 yoke in place of the old gt flange. This set up should be bullet proof

Rich if your in Florida in the winter where is the car and how do you work on it?!? Lol

This message courtesy of crapatalk!

The car is in my shop back home, I took some projects down here with me to work on while Im here. When I left I had just dropped the motor and trans in. this allowed me to get my driveshaft measurements and being PST is down here in Tampa it was a no brainer to have it sent to me while I was down here. Good thing as the first strange pinion yolk they sent didn't quit fit, pretty sure it was just a minor flaw with the machining as it wasn't off more than .001.One call to Walt over at promotion and problem is taken care of there sending  a new one along with a return lable to send the original one back. Always nice to deal with a company that jumps right on taking care of customer problems. I cant say enough good things about the guys at promotion who have put this all together for me and continue to work with me to make sure everything is correct.

maybe i'll try a 3650 ????

Troy weather you go tko or 3650 or t56 I wouldn't hesitate to talk to Walt first. Tell him the specifics what your looking for yada yada and see what he says. When I was looking for a set up for this car I was originally going to go a tko600, I spoke with Buba at g-force per the Allens recommendations. Didn't really care for the options and pricing he laid out so I remembered all the good stuff Paul had to say about promotion and gave them a call. Walt has spent hours with me on the phone going over options, specifics, onto explaining about the different qwerks with every single tranny on the market, to cases, gears, procedures ,TSBs, shafts, aluminum treatment, clutches, marsal springs  and everything under the sun.  In the end this 3650 was pretty much a no brainer for what my combo needed. I know for sure that you will be seeing the 3650 swap more and more in the future. Will he recommend one for your set up IDK, but like I said give them a call to see what he says

Rich usually keeps things under wraps until some sort of reveal like a show. This thread is actually rare for him, because in the past all his changes to his car were always top secret and we didn't know what he did until we saw the car in person at Carlisle each year lol. We know way more about what he's up to now than he ever used to let on in the past lol.

I know they'll be 3 piece and wide, that's it. Can't wait to see what got the nod.

Sorry to disappoint ya Tony nothing going on here just a clean up. see post below for wheels lol

I'm with Tony. Don't get me wrong that is a super nice driveshaft, but I can't wait to see some big ole tires and wheel porn.

Wheels wont be revealed until the car is on the road again sorry.

Dan and Ryan both know me pretty well and as they said Im not much for showing everything and have shown way more than I normally due but fear not there is still a ton that I have not revealed and wont until shes back out on the scene. For now you guys will just have to accept the little things I do post up. I don't like copy cats and have already scene a few of the one off things I have done start to pop up around the net which makes me want to limit my postings even more. Don't get me wrong I know if people are copying your work you must be doing something right but I prefer to at least have the car complete and out on the scene before it becomes the norm to see some of the stuff I have come up with floating around on other cars. I guess you can say its just another one of those pet peeves I have but it just irritates me to all hell when I have put a ton of thought and work into an idea to only see some monkey ass duplicating it and saying they came up with a great idea. Most of the time I just shake my head and move on. In all reality the best way for me to limit that is to keep most of the stuff I do on the down low. So please don't crucify me for the lack of updates but that's just the way I am its a hard habit to break lol
