Welcome back to the northeast. You didn't miss much, just a bunch of snow and cold.

Sent from Space

Thanks steve even though its been around 40 since Ive returned my body is still in shock from the 40* swing. I swear the older I get the more I hate the cold, I think in a couple of more years Im going to make the move down south for good. The only thing that keeps me up in the north east is the money lol.

I just got done doing the same basic thing.  Since I started my rebuild I have been buying tools left/right and added some small tool  boxes here/there to hold them.  Finally got tired of all the little boxes and also not having a good work station area in the garage so I went and bought a large 5 ft long box with a wooden top to work on.  First ordered it from sears and was happy to get it $150 off but had to wait 2 weeks till it was delivered.  While I waited it went on sale again and now included delivery with $175 off.....  Ok thanks.  Just got it put in place yesterday and next to my craftsman air compressor with my craftsman vice I bought from my neighbor used last summer it is starting to look like a craftsman commercial in my garage

Pretty crazy how quickly things get cluttered and jammed in when your building a car. Tools, parts, materials ect. I feel like every month I have to stop and do a shop clean up. I couldn't pass up all the cabinets as a GC friend of mine is gutting a 100000 square foot medical building and all I had to do was drive up to pick them up. Heck I just pointed to the ones I wanted and his guys even loaded my truck, cant get any better than that. Im debating picking up more still but not sure if I will need them.

I just read through the entire thread, and WOW. That's the most beautiful vert i have ever seen. Now i can't decide if i'm motivated to make my car better or just give up.

Thanks, motivation is the name of the game and its the hardest thing to keep it on a long build. Many of times Ive gotten into a rut and just feel like calling it quits but you take a little break and bam you jump right back into it.

now get crakalakin on that there mustang  :D

great to see you home . hope to see some updates

Tony and Troy updates will be coming just have to finish organizing and figure out were or what I left off on. I know I still have wiring to do, finish dropping the heads on the short block and buttning that up. A bit of interior work and some odds and ends all in all I would say Im on the downward slope heading for the finish line. Bad news is work season is here and my free time is soon coming to an end. Which means Ill have to squeak in late nights, rain days and whatever weekend time I can come up with after estimates. Either way it will get done, like ive said There is no timeline. When this thing is done its done forever, theres nothing more that can be done to it. Well maybe a blower upgrade in the future but to me that's a drop in the bucket lol. Ive got my sights set on building a four eye next year.

@tony I wish I could answer that, Im pushing for it but I am sending the entire interior out once the fabrication is done and you know how out sourcing shit goes. Its one of those things you have no control over and sometimes bites you in the ass. Regardless I will still be attending dome shows with or without the car. If I didn't spend 5 months down in florida I would have said hell yeah Im a couple of weeks away from start up lol but that isn't the case so Its time to get busy. I think I have about two maybe three weeks to slam full time on it before I start droppin concrete lol hopefully I can make some headway.

The guy doesn't mess around but Im not done fabbing the center console yet. The new rear seat delete I haven't started yet and The car has to make its way over to his shop someway for the termi top. The interior wiring is gonna hold me up a bit as Theres a ton to do monster switch panel with everything under the sun in it. The dam ipad, amps, speakers, still need to finish wiring the new cluster up. Trust me I still have a boat load to do myself before I have to worry about sending the interior out. The good thing is I know the work itself will be top notch as its the same guy who covered my corbeaus and his work has been featured in every magazine ever made so theres no worry on that end. I still have to sit down with him and discuss materials as that's going to be one of those tough decisions that I may rely on his experience to guide my decisions. One thing is that I still want to keep the Recaros close to there original look but with a subtle twist. Once we figure that out the rest will follow

I am looking forward to some more pics once you start making some progress.

You and me both....thats progress lol.

Anyway spring, work, life, yada, bs , and everything else has made for some slow progress. I have however made some small progress.

Saleen tail bezels are in, cluster project is winding down, a little clean up under the car, just about have the motor set..   still need a set of Valve covers.  Also changed direction on a couple of things, rim size being one. Originally it was gonna be 19s all around. After doing some measuring and mock up Ive decided to go with a 20 x 12 out back with the 19 upfront. Still playing with the idea of a 20 x 13 though a few more double checks this weekend before I make the final decision though.

Also changed direction on trannys originally was gonna have a tko600 built but after talking with Walt over at promotion Ive decided to have him build me a 3650. Have a few things to do to make it all jive but nothing I didn't expect and in the end it will hold the kind of power ill be throwing at it. Unlike the tko were id be worried about it failing. So in a few weeks I should have the trans and motor ready to go back in. For now a couple of pics sorry.

Lookin good. Must be making some good power to worry about blowing up a TKO. I didn't think a 3650 was stronger though, or capable of being stronger than a built TKO.

looking to putdown 700+ at the tire. Walt can build a 3650 to handle over a 1000 hp. Gforce told me not even to consider a tko600. Walt could have done one but not only was it not gonna handle my intenfed power but also a bit more money. Once he laid it all out for me the advantages of the built 3650 over the tko made it a no brainer.

Glad to see some updates!! I also didn't realize a 3650 would be a better option. I've been wondering what to go with for my build so I'll have to see about a similar setup. I love the idea of the staggered wheels especially the possibility of 13 wides. I still am trying to figure out a lot for mine so I'll keeping an eye on your build.

That's good to know. I will have to keep him in mind. I have a TKO in my car and no real complaints except for the infamous shift lock out problems on occasion. I was going to freshen up my TKO and make some upgrades to it, but might have to trade for the 3650.

Being you already have the tko a sure shift upgrade would solve your problem. The 3650 also isn't a direct swap. Drive shaft has to be shorted or new one built. Cross member needs to be modified and possibly a custom shifter made were not 100% on the shifter yet but that's getting sorted out along the way. You also have to run an adapter plate for the trans to physically bolt up. So in the long run you can see why I say you might want to just upgrade the tko.

I see. I was going to look into it later tonight but looks like you've about covered everything. The driveshaft and crossmember wouldn't be a big deal as I'm going to be needing to change up both anyways. I'm not planning on making big power though like you, and I am wanting to change over to the .82 5th gear in my TKO....not sure if a 5th with around that ratio is made for the 3650. Another thing I'll need is a blow-proof bellhousing...might be another hang-up with the 3650. Thank you for the information. You've given me some things to think about and research.

Did G-force try and upsell you their t56?... lol!

They did with me when I was calling to talk about their transmissions holding 600 to 700whp for my build back in the day.

Funny thing about g-force is they weren't even on my list when I was looking at someone to do a trans for me. A friend of mine had a trans done by them for a tt-coupe and they told me they were very happy with not only the trans but also there customer service. So with there suggestion I called Bubba up and he basically told me to forget about the tko600, he then suggested a built t56. Ok by me as I knew going in to this that there weren't to many options for a stick car putting down that type of power. So he runs some numbers and with the complete package it came out to a bit over 6k, I told bubba thanks but I was going to call around. Lol So I went to my number one personal choice, Walt over at promotion, after talking to him for a few hours we came up with a package that was cheaper than the built t56 package from gforce  and it was going to be more than enough to support the numbers im looking to put down.

I am envious of you guys building today.  You have way more options for manuals behind big power. When I was putting together my setup I had very few.

My trans builder convinced me he could build a G-force to live behind my motor. I guess he neglected to say for how long.  I have blown it up once already. Playing with a Gixxer. So it was kind of worth it...  lol!

Walt at promotion is the man.  he hooked me up with everything i needed for my t3550 when i rebuilt it.

Yeah ryan,  Paul is the one who turned me on to him originally and let me tell you the guy is on point with his knowledge. You can tell just by talking to him he knows his shit. I just hooked him up with another good buddy of mine for a load of t5 and tremec cases as the t5 cases are almost extinct to come buy now.

Im also going to be selling hard to come by fox parts along with some sn parts as a source of extra income so if your looking or know anybody looking for anything let me know I have a warehouse full of stuff to get rid of.

if your talking about the 95, then i would only worry about the clutch from all the slipping it gets pulling on and off the trailer.

haha you guys are funny , the only reason the stock trans  has lasted this long is because I am still on the stock clutch

or the fact that you cant blow something up when its sitting in the garage year round lol
